Ronnie Clark
Ronnie Clark - Yahoo! Sports

Clark is the #5 player in the state of AL for 2014. He's also rated as the #99 player in the overal Top247. UT extended him an offer this past week.

He already has offers from Bama, AU, Clemson, and USCjr. among others. He's taken three UOVs to Auburn already, and has visited Bama for camp and an UOV.

AU appears to be the team to beat here. I am not even sure a coaching change will change that. I can not remember offhand who but he has a relative I believe on the AU team right now.

USC wasn’t the only major school to offer Clark this month. The ESPN Watch List athlete picked up another SEC offer recently when Tennessee extended a scholarship his way. It was his fourth SEC offer.

“It was great, just adding on to my list,” Clark said. “It’s another SEC school. That’s always good to have all of the SEC schools offer you because that’s the toughest conference right now. Having your pick of which one to go to, that’s pretty neat.

“Coach [Derrick] Ansley, the defensive back coach, he came to the school, talked with me and tried to get to know me a little bit. He’s a cool guy. I’m glad that they offered me.”

"Both in-state schools are coming after me probably harder than everyone else," Clark said. "They are in a real battle right now. South Carolina is also coming after me pretty strong. Ole Miss, Mississippi State and USC are sending a lot of mail. It's mostly just been SEC schools though.

"I know Alabama and Auburn will definitely be in there," he said. "South Carolina is also one that will likely be in there. I talk to them every now and then. They are coming at me pretty hard. I just want to see how everything else is. I am still trying to narrow it down.

New article on 247.

He basically just reiterated that Bama and Auburn are definitely his top 2 schools. His mother was diagnosed with early onset multiple sclerosis, so he wants to stay close to home. That is a priority, and Bama is the closer school.

Best wishes to this kid and his mother.

Seems like a good kid, with his head on straight. I wish him and his family luck in the future.
