134 Yards of Total Offense for UTEP

Northern Arizona held them to 229. So, we're a tad better on D than they are.
At what point does it become acceptable? I mean, is it common for the Big Boys like Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Oklahoma, *Florida ect, to hold cupcakes to - 100+ yards?

I know it was just UTEP, so, what should the allowed yards been for some of you to accept they did a good job? Would we have to hold an opponent to less yards than any other team in the country has?

*Florida = 85 Bears.

A football player at this level has had hard practices no matter who is the coach. The problem with this roster is most of the players are used to losing and the young guys don’t know how to win. A losing attitude is hard to break especially for a new coach. Unfortunately, most of the dead wood is going to have to graduate or be recruited over for it to change

Anyone who is currently a 5th year player will have undergone 1 losing season at UT. I know we all hate Butch, but there was a decent little run in there. The same player from Florida will have undergone two losing seasons. So don't they also have a losing attitude?

Imagine how many yards we could have held them to if the team hadn't quit on Pruitt...

I don’t think it’s fair to say the whole team quit, I think offensively we were not engaged like we should of been, D. Richmond is frustrating to watch, and it doesn’t help matters when he has a true freshman lined up to his left. I think the defense played a complete game for the first time in a long time, hell we haven’t been able to slow down a mobile QB in years yet we were able to do
It yesterday. That’s a good sign, only thing I see on defense is that our secondarh has to come up with those interceptions that their in place for. Taylor definitely should of had his first pick of the year. If we aren’t so sloppy on offense then the tune of people this morning is totally different. Also- Pruitt is coaching these guys hard, deandre Johnson is a guy that comes to mind to me. He had a bad play early in the game and Pruitt let him have it. Then later in the game Deandre blows up a screen play for a negative loss. Guys are learning and growing as players and that’s wht you want to see. And I don’t care how bad people think UTEP is, we shut them down via our defense and that’s what good Teams do to subpar competitiors. This wasn’t happening under butch though, Pruitt has beaten his cupcakes 83-3 so far this year. Definitely a better look than b. Jones!!

Most of the second half of the WVU game it looked like the defense had given up. Other than that, the defense really has been pretty good so far.
They're learning. I wish the warm up games had come at the beginning.

UTEP had about the same amount of rushing yards against us as they did against FCS Northern Arizona.
By my count, UT played at least 25 guys on D. They went pretty deep, pretty early in this game. I'll take that with only 134 yds allowed with the longest drive being the first one- 6 plays, 29 yds.

Even during CBJ's best two years we lost 4 games both seasons, his other seasons we lost 7, 6, and 8 games respectively. Let's not get carried away with a culture of winning. A winning culture doesn't produce 29 losses in 5 seasons

Yeah but... wait... member last year? "At least it wasnt like last year." Mind you last year was the worst season is UT history, but somehow this talking point is valid in the eyes of some sunshine pumpers.
