"We just turned our level of play up this year," said Paul, whose hard work in the passing game paid off to the tune of 1,579 yards and 23 touchdowns... Paul's explosiveness can't solely be measured by numbers, but his high school statistics will blow you away. The senior's 1,956 rushing yards and 32 touchdowns [on just 129 carries] in 2012 pushed his career totals to 6,994 rushing yards and 99 touchdowns. Not to mention his area-leading eight interceptions this year or his 11 special teams touchdowns (seven kickoffs, four punts) the past two seasons, despite teams almost always refusing to kick it deep.

Aside from taking the state championship in the 300 hurdles for a second straight year, Paul also claimed the title in the long jump and ran a sub-48 second split to anchor the 1,600 relay team for another gold. Paul's fourth medal, a silver with the 400 relay team, now stands as icing. "He's probably the best overall athlete that I've ever been around in 20 years of coaching," Munday coach Ronnie Lowrance said. "There's not much that he can't do."
