slow 40 time to be so small

The 40 times that Rivals lists are usually incorrect, especially for guys that aren't in the current recruiting cycle or haven't camped a lot. I knew someone would comment on the 40 time, but just keep in mind that it's probably inaccurate.

If that 4.65 40 is anything but laser timed than he's not very fast for his size.

"I actually have been to a Nike Camp at Memphis along with the Ole Miss camp and Memphis's camp," he said. "I'm going to Tennessee on Tuesday and then I'm supposed to be at camp on Friday and Saturday at Vanderbilt."

Sims holds offers from Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati, Memphis, Marshall, Mississippi State, Arkansas State and Western Kentucky.

Of the schools listed for trips, Tennessee is the only one yet to offer.

"That's the thing, if they give me an offer they'll be in my top three or four," he said. "I guess when I get there Tuesday they just want to see me at camp to finalize an offer. I'm trying to give them a chance since they are close to home."

Sims says he may be nearing a decision.

The in-state talent this year is incredible. High school football is really improving in-state. Good sign for future success of UT.

Sims has really picked up a lot of interest with his camp performances this summer. I hope we get the chance to take him.

But is he going to be a Vol?

As per usual with the Memphis kids, it's not always easy for them to get over to Knoxville often. I'm not going to worry about us being a factor with him if we offer after camp. We just need to get him, and other Memphis players, to campus multiple times (which isn't easy).

Per Fortenberry he didn't receive an offer yet but could in the near future once the staff gets done evaluating everyone.
