'13 QB Ryan Buchanan

From what I've read UF and Auburn are both very high on him. Possibly #2 QB on the board for UF (after Cooper Bateman). Definitely seems to be gaining momentum.

Buchanan and O'Korn are flying under the radar. I hope Buchanan gets an offer when he visits.

Naw, pass. vandy has not offered...no obvious talent if vandy is not interested.

Extreme sarcasm. If Tennessee coaches want him, the reel 'em in.

That's a good question on Bateman. Although he's from Utah he seems to have some serious SEC interest (LSU, Aub, Bama, UF). However, I've also heard he may be more interested in playing closer to home than was first realized.

As for Buchanon, I think UF and UT are both waiting on Vandy to offer before really going after him. That's the litmus test, am I right?

From ESPN regarding the Elite 11 camp....apparently he likes the SEC West:

Buchanan likes five

Buchan enjoyed a pretty good afternoon. And when he was on, he was on.

"I started off pretty well," Buchanan said. "But I know I could have thrown better. But I stepped up and learned a lot here. If there's one thing I learned, [it's] that you have to bring it on every throw and on every play."

Buchanan, 6-3 and 203 pounds, has become a hot prospect of late. Auburn and Arkansas offered over the past two weeks.

"I like a bunch of schools," Buchanan said. "Auburn, Arkansas, Alabama, Ole Miss and Mississippi State are the ones that stand out."

The Crimson Tide have not offered, but the others have. Buchanan plans on going to the Ole Miss spring game.

"I think it's been going good," Buchanan said. "The evaluation period has picked up and schools have been coming by like Oklahoma State, Florida and Tennessee. It's exciting. My friends are out there catching for me and it's been fun to throw for a lot of different coaches."

"It's definitely one of the top places in the country to play college football," Buchanan said. "Will Overstreet went to my school and he went there. I have heard a lot about it and one my teachers is a big Tennessee alum so I hear a lot about them."

Buchanan has gotten to know Vol offensive coordinator Jim Chaney and the longtime college and NFL assistant wants to see more.

"I've talked to him a good bit," Buchanan said. "He's going to come back tomorrow (Tuesday) to watch me again. He wants me to get up there and have me take a visit. He's a straight forward guy and I like that about him. He coached Drew Brees and that says a lot about his ability to relate to quarterbacks."

He plans to commit to a school before the season starts.

I really like this kids film. I wouldn't mind taking him as our QB in this class.

I've stated it before and I'll say it again. I really like the tools that Buchanan brings to the shed. IMO, the only knock on him is the level of competition he plays against at the high school level. If his intangibles match his tangibles, he's going to be a really good quarterback in college and a good get for whoever signs him.

This kid is solid. He plays against weak competition but so does Chavas Rawlins. He works out of the shotgun and from under center. He looks to have a strong arm and deceptive speed. Dilfer apparently loved this guy at the Atlanta Elite 11.

Lol. He goes to Prep. I know a lot of kids from that area. JA and Prep are pipelines for Ole Miss in regards to non-athlete students. TONS of Ole Miss fans there.

Seems like we may be focusing our attention on Buchanan, Rawlins, and Trubisky. Wither one would be great for our class. I still wish we would add Asiantii Woulard to our QB offers. What do you guys prefer out of the three mentioned Qbs?

From these 3 my list would be as follows:

1. Trubisky
2. Buchanan
3. Rawlins

With minimal rework to his mechanics I feel as though Trubisky has star written all over him.

SN: I think all three of them have the potential to be really good, however.

That'd be my order as well. All pretty mobile guys with strong arms.

Agreed. If I were to compare their skills currently to that of recent or former college qbs, I'd make the following comparisons: Trubisky is almost a carbon copy of Tyler Wilson; Buchanan looks eerily similar to AJ McCarron; Rawlins is a more athletic hybrid mixture of Darron Thomas and Casey Pachall.

Just got turned on to this kid by SPED and I can honestly say that I think getting this kid would be a huge steal. He offers a great blend of athleticism, accuracy, arm strength, and knowledge of his team's scheme. I would be willing to bet the learning curve for this kid would be VERY low. Looks like he could come in and compete with Worley and Peterman day 1 (if he were to sign with UT obviously).

Having some knowledge of the area, I think we have some catching-up to do, especially if he's holding to his previous statement in which he stated that he intends to commit before the season starts.

He is suppose to be in UA camp throwing for the coaches in June. We will have Trubisky, Bateman, C Mitch, R Ferguson, and Staver also that week. It appears most will be there just for one day to throw and hopefully get a firm offer. The only one so far with a legit offer is Bateman who will be bringing his father, maother, and coach. Is suppose to make a decision after camp.

I think Buchanan after the summer circuit will get a lot more hype and more offers.

Any way to tell who he is leaning towards?

I don't think so. Like I said earlier, the particular school he goes to is a huge feeder into Ole Miss. Jackson Prep is a very preppy school, go figure, but it is also a very good school.

Like TW mentioned, he's going to a UA camp. I think Ole Miss will be in it until the end simply because of the connections that community has to Ole Miss. I think UT can get in it if Chaney extends him an offer after watching him again. We just need him to visit. IMO, it's just going to be really difficult to be a serious player based on his location and the late offer, if he gets one.
