I have not been around the recruiting board lately, though I am usually a disciple over here.

Who is looking like our guy this year? Is there a general sense of optimism or pessimism for this years QB?

TIA.

Sal is recruiting Chavas Rawlins and Chaney is recruiting Conor Mitch. Those appear to be the two top of our board right now. I'm sure somebody will point it out if I am forgetting someone

Someone posted the other day about UT potentially having interest in Ryan Buchanon out of Mississippi as well.

Thanks for the insight guys. I'll have to read up on them some.

Generally speaking is there an optimistsic feeling about the quality of these guys?

Last I paid attention I was excited about Hackenburg (sp?), but work has been too heavy and it seems I missed us missing on him.

All seem to be highly or semi-highly regarded.

Mitch- Recently named USCe his leader, I think UNC, LSU, and Bama (no offer) are also involved.

Trubisky- I don't know much about, but I think Bama is in the mix there as well.

Buchanon- Rising fast, likes the entire SEC West. UF also has him on the board, but hasn't offered yet from what I understand.

Just based on film, I'd like to get Rawlins. I don't even care if he doesn't play QB. He's a playmaker.

I just don't see the need in taking a QB this cycle... We've got plenty of depth and with the new limitations on recruiting, wouldn't that spot be better served going for another position of need?

Buchanan is out of Jackson Prep, which played my former school (MRA) up to twice a year. My friends have been watching his progress. He's got an awesome arm, but the level of competition is not even close to on par with the big public schools. With that said, I'd be quite surprised if he doesn't end up at Ole Miss or Mississippi State. If I'm not mistaken, he's an Ole Miss fan, but don't hold me to that. I'd guess Rebels.

BTW, for anyone worried about QB right now....

Very few (if any) of us knew who Nathan Peterman was this time last year. I'll trust the evaluation process here.
