They'll still be in, at best, the 6th best conference. Their visibility to local prospects won't be any different - those local prospects will simply be able to see them get their brains beat in by USF and UL instead of ECU and Tulsa.

Not sure what makes you think Fuente is an upgrade over Porter, other than simply knowing that Porter sucked. Fuente has never been a HC and wasn't considered a HC candidate anywhere else.

Fuente's resume' is 10x better than what Porter's was. Porter had never even been a coordinator. Fuente made Andy Dalton into an NFL QB, and made the TCU offense spectacular with nothing more than marginal talent. No reason to think he can't do that at Memphis. It most definitely will take some time, however. They're going to take their lumps for a while.

This. Fuente is the best offensive coach in the state of Tennessee at any school. I was screaming for UT to pay him the money to become OC. He wouldn't have left the UT OC job for mempiss.

Is this a joke? Fuente, who was the CO-offensive coordinator at TCU, is a better offensive coach than Jim Chaney, who not only developed Drew Brees (IMO, a tad bit better than Andy Dalton) but also was instrumental in transforming Crompton in 2009 and has in addition molded Tyler Bray? Are you kidding?

Look, Memphis State is a joke. It's the worst program in FBS. If you want to try and dispute that it's your right, but you won't be using facts.
