'13 NJ DE Garrett Sickels

Are the coaches already in contact with him and gauging his interest? He's saying he is 100% committed, but once all of this sets in, many current commits' tunes will begin to change.

If he has any dream about trying to make pros, better get out of there...

I hope he comes to UT, but what makes you say that? It's not like Penn State is some new kid on the block. They've been putting guys into the NFL for nearly as long as we have. They still have top notch facilities, they're still going to field a team, albeit a weak one over the next few years. There will still be guys going pro from Penn State. Just because a school is on double secret probation doesn't mean that guys can't show out and be talented players.

What happens when you field a team of 65 on scholarship and injuries come as they do with all teams and your depth is gone... Furthermore, their recruiting will struggle severely with top talent... Your team suddenly becomes everyone's homecoming game and you get barbequed frequently. See TN for the past 3 years in the NFL draft.

I think that's the first time I've ever seen you post anything that wasn't totally crazy...

That post of his almost made me take him off of my ignore list, but then I thought about the 100s of idiotic posts he has made and said "nah".

Biopsyman, I seriously think you are bipolar. Every once in a blue moon, you actually post something sensible, but you have so many posts that makes me think your 8 year old is on your account. What gives?

His little brother stole his VN password.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to pick-up on the change. That is my baby...just 2 years older and tattooless. :) Don't worry, fignewt and Flat Top, all my VN friends can still refer to me as baby avi.

Think it will last?

Any top-rated recruit who chooses Penn State is a fool. Granted, most 18-year olds are fools, but there are ZERO benefits to attending Penn State.

One of the biggest perks to playing college football at a major university is the impact that has on a resumé. Finish your degree and stay on the roster for fours years and you will find a job. Even that is a negative now if you attend Penn State. No one in their right mind should brag about playing at Penn State for the next 10 years unless you're applying to a job in Pennsylvania.

Even if it's a smaller school, most recruits would be better served attending a different university. This whole thing is a mess that anyone with an ounce of sanity would not want their name associated with.

Hey guys, why was the "PSU Commit" removed from this thread? I've read nothing that states he has de-committed. Great news if true though.

Disagree. The students and faculty had/have nothing to do with a sick human being in the AD. You're still getting an excellent education and it speaks volumes about the kids' character who will choose to stick it out. They're not going to run when the going gets tough and it shows me that football isnt the most important thing to them. These kids want to change the very image of PSU that you have and that's impressive to me personally.

but about the only thing at penn state he can accomplish is being on the worst team at the school in the last 40 plus years .and it will get worse.if there are alot of transfers they will be lucky if they have enough players to field a team.losing 10 scollys for 4 or 5 years.if he wants to stay close to home he better switch to rutgers.someone needs to tell his sister to get in his ear every time she talks to him.
