"I have family near Knoxville and my sister is being recruited by Tennessee, so I will be visiting them on Monday. Coach [Pete] Sirmon called my high school coach this past week about me, so I called him back. He let me know that they watched my film and they were impressed.

"Tennessee is an SEC school and I feel the SEC is the best conference in the country, so I like that. I know they have a great program, I think their stadium is awesome, and I expect them to have nice facilities too. I am ready to see Tennessee."

Vols definitely have the inside track here. Atleast his 2 time to visit and I think his sister is a UT student and is trying to bring him to UT.

“Rutgers is definitely going to be in the top five later on,” Sickels said

“It’s great,” Sickels said. “I love that place. It’s close to home. I love the coaches up there. I love the whole program. It’s very exciting.”

Junior defensive end Garrett Sickels of Little Silver (N.J.) Red Bank Regional had already positioned himself as one of the top juniors in the region by grabbing offers from Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Rutgers and UCF during the summer. Sickels continued his impressive early recruiting pace by adding another huge SEC offer to his collection a couple of weeks ago. While in the region for their game against Penn State, the Alabama coaches used their time wisely and also did a little recruiting. One of their stops was along the Jersey Shore, where Sickels picked up his latest offer from the Crimson Tide. Sickels has called Florida his "dream school", but at this pace the Gators will have a great deal of competition.

Yeah that FL defensive line looked like pure $#it last weekend. I don't care what Rivals says - there's no talent there at all right now!!! They're desperate for a good DE next year!!!

Class of 2013 defensive end Garrett Sickels will be making his third trip to Tennessee in less than a month.

Sickels, a 6-foot-4, 225-pound defensive end from Little Silver (N.J.) Red Bank Regional, is already very familiar with the Volunteers and he'll be getting an even closer look at Derek Dooley's program very shortly.

"The only trip I have planned is October 15 to see Tennessee and LSU," Sickels said on Saturday.

"I really like the defensive line coach. Really it's the whole coaching staff there that I like. They're really nice. The facilities are really great and the weight room is nice. The stadium and the culture down there in Knoxville are great."

Will be here w/ his parents for the LSU game.

Sickels, a 6-foot-4, 235-pounder out of Red Bank Regional High School in New Jersey, has already developed a solid relationship with Sirmon, talking every two weeks.

“It has been great,” he said. “When I was down there it was really exciting and stuff. We got to find out a lot more about each other.

“I like the way he goes about offering kids. He wants to meet them in person first. I really like that. I think it keeps the integrity of the program up. It has been great. We really get a long well.”

Sickels, who has a sister at Tennessee, has already gotten several glimpses of the Knoxville campus.

“It is a very cool town — southern comfort town,” he said. “It is right on the river and it is really all about the university. I think it is really cool how the university is at the hub of the town.

“The stadium is awesome, newly renovated and the brick all around the outside is beautiful. The locker room when I saw it was great. Great facilities and they are actually redoing their weight room, which will be cool to see down the road.”
