Notre Dame recently offered & Beckwith said Tennessee & Notre Dame are 2 schools he would love to visit. He says Alabama & LSU are the 2 schools sticking out the most ATP b/c those are the only 2 he has visited.

He could be a potential JACK or ILB

6-foot-3, 220-pound athlete Kendell Beckwith already holds offers from LSU, Alabama, Tennessee and Nebraska with the talent to back those scholarships offers up.

Beckwith would like to play on defense in college.
"I'm getting a lot of offers right now and once that's done I'll narrow it down," Beckwith said.

"I like offense but I want to play linebacker," Beckwith said. "On defense I like hitting and getting to the ball."

It will still be awhile until Beckwith begins cutting down his list as he wants to get his teams' season underway before focusing on himself.

"I'll probably look to narrow things down towards the middle of my senior season," Beckwith said. "I probably won't commit until the Under Armour game."

I believe he is LSU's only offer at LB this year. I would imagine LSU or Bama, of course he has strong ties to LSU but you never know.

I think he will end up at LSU but UA is going to be right there until the end. The only edge UA has he the fact he wants to play LB and we are putting them in the leaque, but he he would see the field at LSU as a freshman I think. Again probably LSU but UA will atleast make it interesting.

Wonder if UA will continue to put LBs in the league without Coach Sal? :)

They only get top 15 LBs, not that much of an accomplishment to put those kinds of guys in the league.

I know to get the league players do not need development from a great staff. All natural talent with no coaching.:)

Do not think that will be a problem. Our 3-4 scheme allows LBs to develop very nicely and showcase that talent once under Saban and Smart. Another reason I think UA has a legit shot at Beckwith, especially since he wants to play LB.

Go to LSU right now if you want to play DL, go to UA to play LB. Just the current cycle.

That post had sarcasm all over it. Saban always brings in top notch coaches.

This doesn't really belong in this thread, but I was wondering if it has gone through anyone else's head. Does anyone think Saban might hire Dooley back if he is canned here in the future?

Average coaching could get those players to the league :p most BCS schools could get that talent to the league. Who have they put in the league that no one expected to get there? Genuine question, not trying to be smart allec.

Javy Arenas, M Ingram, and list continues and if we are talking about LBs Hightower probably had a chance as any 4 star ranked but even UT was not that high on him.

In the end no matter what they were rated coming out of HS is all has to do with the staff to get to the next level. Hence why so many players are so interested in UA.

5 star players should make it no matter where they go, not always because some still are a bust. But 4 star a s hot in the dark and more do not make than that do.

If that were the case he would have five first round draft picks per year at mich state. It's much more a function of talent recruiting. Notice when he got to schools where it was easier to recruit, the draft picks go up as well as the championships

A guess we can always argue which came first, the chicken or the egg. The difference at LSU or UA was not just recruits but the staff. He did not have the same staff or resources at MSU that he did at LSU or now at UA.

Also if the location or tradition of the program is such a draw why does CDD have such a hard time. Yes schools with history draw intrigue but they still need to win to get the players. And to win there has to be a staff that can develop those players on the field and if developed correctly the team wins and the players get drafted high.

To get drafted in the 1st round vs the 7th round has to do with the staff.

Why did Bama have a hard time for ten years? I think you know the answer to that. So the assistants then, the changing variable, are more responsible than talent? I'm not buying that. Bama had not won in a decade but closed a top five class his first year. Notice what happens a few years later.
