Got any stud DTs interested in UT for '13? I don't look that far ahead normally.

My favorite color is Orange so that counts for something," Smith said. "Any school with orange I'm looking at them. Peyton Manning and Eric Berry are pretty much the only guys I know who went there. I don't know too much about them but I look forward to getting the 411 on them."

Smith's bye week is the week of Sept. 10, and Sirmon talked to Smith about visiting the Tennessee campus for the Vols game against Cincinnati.

"I have to talk to my parents and see," Smith said. "It's about a seven-hour drive."

His brother is a redshirt freshmen RB at Ohio State.

Out of around 45-50 offers we have out to '13 prospects, around a third of them are to kids up north. Really liking the emphasis we're putting on OH/MD/IN/PA.

Vitals: Outside linebacker, Fort Wayne (Ind.) Bishop Luers, 6-3/215

Why he’s a five-star: On the hoof, Smith has the kind of frame you want a young outside linebacker to have, he has length and plenty of room for added weight. Smith is also a terrific athlete that sheds blocks with ease, plays with great leverage and is a great striker. Though he likely projects at outside linebacker or possibly even defensive end, Smith also plays running back in high school. In his first game of 2011, Smith rushed for 222 yards three touchdowns.

Recruitment: Smith currently holds offers from the likes of Indiana, Tennessee, Purdue, Mississippi State and Ohio State. Although Smith won’t publicly admit it, it’s hard to believe that Ohio State doesn’t have the edge in his recruitment. Smith’s brother, Rod is a redshirt freshman running back for the Buckeyes.

Was at Purdues game this weekend.

"I'll be at the IU-Ohio State game for sure," Smith said. "I am trying to get down to a Tennessee game or maybe a Nebraska or Wisconsin game."

This will come down to a ND vs OSU for him. Just saw a pic on a ND board that had him decked out in ND gear that his girlfriend bought him for Valentine's day. BTW I read his GF will be going to ND. Also his older brother is at OSU and he seems really excited about CUM being there.

Maybe ol' Kelly will offer her a job.

To abd we did not, but you may have failed to read the article that actually printed the truth. Because like with Collins GF if they are already excepted who cares. And if offering a job to a GF helps to bring in a top recruit, go ahead I say . as long as no rules are broken.:)

Couldn't agree more. If it's legal, then do it. Wouldn't give a darn if UT did the same either. What we need here is to start a collaboration with the undergrad admissions office to screen prospective female applicants in order to determine whether or not they date top-notch football recruits. Shouldn't be allowed in if not. haha! Na, seriously, all's fair in love and recruiting, as long as the NCAA thinks so.

Rumor he may make a commitment today at the AWP Camp between ND, OSU, and USC.
