If his name was spelled Militia, would that help?

Militia (pronounced mal-ysha in the US southern dialect) defined as Volunteer soldiers

Glenbard East High under the radar 2013 wide receiver Malysha Flanders from Lombard, Ill., is starting to emerge on the recruiting scene.

“I have been talking to a lot of schools,” Flanders said. “I am going to visit Vanderbilt and Tennessee to camp next week and hopefully land an offer.”

He added, “On July 15th I will be at a camp at Vanderbilt, then going to Tennessee for a three day camp on the 16-18.”

Recruiting started off slow, and picked up at a rapid pace for the Glenbard East standout.

“Recruiting has sped up recently,” Flanders said. “I went from being not on the radar, to being on it.”

One school in particular the 6-foot-3, 200 pound reciever is hearing from more than the others. ?“The school I am hearing from the most is probably Vanderbilt,” Flanders said. “I talk to Coach Rahne a lot.”

And Flanders is excited about heading down south for a visit. “I am looking forward to get to meet the coaching staff and work with the receiver coaches,” Flanders said. “Plus getting a chance to perform in front of the coaches and hopefully get an offer.”

Tennessee has also made it clear they are interested in Flanders.

“One of Tennessee’s coaches dropped by my school before summer started,” Flanders said. “And I talked to them a few times this summer.”
