I don't understand offers like this. Call the kid and ask him if we offer will you come? If the kid says no then move on. Why make an offer to a kid this late that has no interest. Just gives another kid a chance to tell us no thanks on twitter. In some ways I liked the Dooley approach to recruiting.

We need OL. 99% of the football junkies will forget we offered by next Thursday. Just like asking a girl on a date. If she says no, no big deal but if she says yes...

You go fishing if there is room in your fish tank. You might get lucky, but have nothing to lose. Have plenty of room for him in a position of need.

I just think extending offers this late to lower rated players that have no interest screams desperation. A 5 minute conversation is enough to know if a kid is really interested or not. Not a big deal either way but I just hate seeing a kid with no SEC offers turning us down.

We are desperate. We've signed 3 OL the last two years and will lose 5 after this season.

Very possible we would not have even taken the kid unless Lawson was coming along. An offer this late to me looked like something to sweeten the deal with CL. Maybe Harris was a take this late, I think with Lawson sticking with AU, the staff would not have taken Harris if he tried to commit.

Say what you will, but Dooley really crapped on our bed last year by not signing a single OL. Will be noticeable in another year or two.
