sweeney is selling these kids on don't go to sec...toughest players and teams in cf...come to clemson ..competition is easier and you won't get beat up every week plus your stats will look better...aka sammy watkins....until they play an sec school, where defense counts...RN
bought into it and took the low road with sweeney...

Only in the ACC would this be feasible and even there it's reaching. If Clemson was not capable of signing well over 25 this yr, imo, they wouldn't be attempting this.

Like why Bama did not win titles between Stallings and Saban. Tennessee between the General and Fulmer. You need the right coach. Clemson has not had the right coach. Yet.

What would CDD do to get the #1 recruit and what would UT fans be alright with?

Gallman a solid 3 star and DI quality
Kamara a low 3 star with Ole Miss as best offer
Schuessler formerly commited to MSU and best offer now walking on at Clemson with hope for a scholarship next year.

So Clemson brings them i to lock up RN, but hold on. Now RN states he is waiting on another team mate S Ryan Carter and says if that happens he will be locked up to Clemson. Who btw is a 2 star with Ole Miss being his best offer. If you notice Ole Miss with all of them because that tried to do the same thing but Clemson beat them out.

“I am waiting on Clemson to offer Ryan; when that happens, it’s locked … it’s a done deal … it’s over,” Robert Nkemdiche told the AJC

No player is worth that, I am glad for the Vols and Tigers he is going elsewhere. This is the type of stuff you have to stay away from. imho

I'm a Clemson fan, and I really hope Dabo doesn't offer this Carter kid. If this is a dealbreaker, then so be it, I wish theme the best at Ole Miss.

With that, I have no problem with what we have done so far. You really need to break it down player by player, to get a full understanding of what's going on.

Gallman is a very talented back, with many good D1 offers (Auburn, UGA, GT, USCe), and shouldn't be lumped into this Grayson package deal talk. He also isn't near as close to RN as Kamara, Carter, or the Miss St transfer. No matter what those 4 decide to do, I have no doubt Gallman stays true to his Clemson verbal.

Kamara is realistically probably a lower end D1 prospect. Someone that would fit right in at a Vandy, Wake, kentucky, etc. It isn't the biggest reach to offer him, and if it helps with RN, I'm perfectly fine with it. Dabo always reaches on 1-2 prospects every year anyways (DJ Greenlee is another one this year, rated way lower than Kamara), so at least this one helps us with the best recruit in the country.

The QB transfer is not going to be given a scholarship, so I really could care less about him. He's not going to get close to the 3 deep anytime soon, so I don't see him ever earning a scholarship. We are in a great position right now at QB, with Chad Kelly coming in this year and Deshaun Watson coming in next year. Look for Watson to be one of, if not the top player from Georgia next year.

Carter is the dealbreaker to me. If for no other reason than the principality of it all. Can't have him coming on campus thinking he is calling the shots and is bigger than the team. I will be very disappointed in Dabo if he is offered a scholarship. Would rather lose RN, Kamara, and the walk-on QB than give in to his demands.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

And after all this I bet RN still signs somewhere else. Not one player is ever bigger than the team and program.

Why is this a surprise? It happens in recruiting all the time. Coaches have brought in lower rated teammates, ex coaches, hired girlfriends, etc. in hope of landing "the big time stud."

Clemson plays in the ACC, so IMO, this really will not hurt them. The current Clemson players may not like it, but that is Dabo's problem.

I see no problem with this. If Clemson feels it's the right thing to do, good for them.

Just an FYI, the only team that has offers out to all the players in question is an SEC team, Ole Miss.

I don't think it's legal or rules problem, but at some point it becomes the crazies running the insane asylum problem. What is really bad is he is doing it in the public domain.

These are the situation you try and avoid. imho

Right now if nothing else you have made out better than Ole Miss. Because they only got Denzel. I just find it hard to believe Carter is even an option with some of the better names still on the board for CU.

But it makes for a great laugh in the off season. I would have to guess Dabo it not happy with his public comments.

Big difference because those there do not tie a scholarship. Which UGA tried that when they just hired one of his excoaches onto the staff. Again no scholarship used. And for the record since you like to throw the girlfriend thing out there you do know she was already coming to UA on a scholarship already. She is also an athlete and would have ended up at LSU but her mother got mad at LSU prior.

And the other problem is when said stud recruit leaves so does he buddy. See Crowell and Cootie. Will this happen to these guys if RN leaves?

I get what you are saying. You will have coaches that walk away because the demands are too high. But, you will have some coaches that will bite on the deal.

This is the part of recruiting that interests me the most. How far is a coaching staff willing to go to land the #1 player in the country.

BTW, I did not say there was something wrong with hiring girlfriends and excoaches. Read up carefully next time.

Just glad LSU/TN are not involved in this. LSU was being shaken down by a scholarship players mom so where there is smoke there is usually fire. All the warning signs are there, when someone in HS already has an entourage I begin to worry.

Good luck to him and Clemson, please RN stay out of Baton Rouge.

I know the coach should be a good addition to UGA from what I have read, especially with his connections to GA HS. Cootie it was in the public grades put him off the team, but we still can wonder, but was an issue prior to him getting an offer.

And in regards to Lowery she only met Collins 2 months before he commited to UA. She was already going to UA and was also on an OV for basketball(which she decided not to play in college), hence why they met the UA/LSU game since it was a huge recruiting weekend. Now his mom seems to think Saban set it up, and if he did I give him credit, but again she was already accepted to UA prior to them meeting and he stated after he announced he was already going to UA over year prior. The mother was never happy because his GF's mother had such a huge grudge against LSU because she was passed over for a job for BBall.

But again as long as it does not use a scholarship I have no issue with it.

This is what most UA fans feel as well. As well when these kids travel with all their friends. Saban told K Allen to go elsewhere when he was dictating his step brother needed a scholarship for him to stay commited and he is projected as a early 1st rounder next year.

Really immature of Nkemdiche to do that, just to get his buddies, who aren't worth the offer, on board.
