Malik Brown - Yahoo! Sports

Currently committed to Syracuse. And he's looking around.

"Tennessee made contact with him and talked to him last night. We're trying to talk to him today."

He looks like a gifted athlete that needs some weight room development. Would be a good sign for Tennessee at a needed position. Hopefully we can get him to visit this month.

Tell us about Malik

very raw kid with upside from Dwyer HS. His Final 3 were Cuse, Ciny and USF. Nice frame to add weight...good speed rusher at DE/OLB. Took over for Maggitt when he left.

Basketball player and played TE/WR before moving over to D. IIRC he had 11 sacks this season going into the playoffs. Haven't seen the end of the year.

Brother played with Maggitt also.. signed with New Mexico

Solid read when he committed to Cuse.

Crazy recruiting period for Dwyer DE Malik Brown. Minnesota and Tennessee stopped by his house today. Expects #Vols offer once HC is hired.

I like the versatility of this kid---my question would be if he would be playing D for sure...we need speed off the edges and someone who can pressure the QB (sacks would be nice too). I like Butch's plan already....going after a kid that probably wants to look around after his coach's exit to the Bills. You have to jump on opportunity.

Staff must like him since he has had cincy offer but I think it's one of those in case we miss type kids unless they want him at lb or something

Could use the speed at linebacker. If he beefs up nicely drop him into the D line. Lots of options go after him.

You the man Ron. Great info.

GBO!!!!!

Same HS as Vol LB Curt Maggitt who I'm sure he is friends with. Would help already knowing someone on the team.

Id add Cunningham and Grace to that.

Our options at LB for this class are dwindling. This would be a good get from a needs standpoint. Doesn't hurt that he plays TE. So what if he needs a year or two to develop?

I wonder what he's weighing these days? Rivals says 205, 247 says 215 and his Hudl film says 230.
