"I am starting to see some leaders, but I don't want to say because I want to wait 'til the summer to really start thinking of that, but I definitely like the top Florida schools like the Florida's, and Florida State's and Miami and Texas Tech I will throw them in there, and also USF I love the defensive line coach there. When I do make my list, those schools will for sure be in the conversation."

With spring football in full swing, the 6-foot-4, 275-pound end said that a few schools have already been in to check on him.

"Well Florida and Florida State were both at practice Friday, and Mizzou came by last week and said an offer is on the way, but haven't yet. Purdue and USF came out today (Monday). Tennessee is coming down Thursday, and West Virginia is coming out Friday."

At some point you old-timers are going to have to come to the realization that it's the Big Four in Florida now.

Also, WANT. Get the Hinshaw Signal ready!

"Ivie has continually progressed since his junior season concluded and is a ferocious force whether it is off the edge or working inside on the defensive line," Florida analyst Chris Nee said. "The 6-foot-4, 270 pound defensive lineman followed up a strong junior campaign with an excellent showing at the Rivals/VTO Sports event in Florida in late April. He has a great combination of size and speed, and does an excellent job of using his hands to get off of blocks. His best asset is his strength."

with his size he's a 3 or 5 tech in any system.

You essentially just reinforced my point... 3-4 positions are enticing to these type players... the same way the hybrid jack position attracts a lot of kids...

you can play both the 3 and 5 tech as a 3-4 DE...

Ivey would only be a DE in a 3-4. In a 4-3 he could play 3-5 Tech because of his quickness to rush the passer.A 3-technique tackle is supposed to run through his gap immediately. He is a 1-gap player. ...his job is not to block or get tied up in a block, but rather to be athletic and get himself into the offensive backfield and disrupt their plans. 3-tech tackle are a lighter more athletic guy than a nose tackle.

HG you don't have to explain the position layout... I played cfb and have coached h.s. also...

You can't play both the 3 and 5 in a 4-3...it's one or the other (yes he has the ability to play both)

A DE in the 3-4 will play both the 3 and 5 depending on alignment...(3-4 quickly becomes a 4-3 allowing a 3-4 to play both the 3 and 5 tech depending which side the walk down comes from)...my explanation is to reaffirm my point, not trying to school you...

Essentially what I am saying is that in a 3-4 the DE gets to do a lot of multiple tech. But in the 4-3 he wouldn't be allowed to utilize his versatility (he is either a 3 or 5)

I like him at the 3 personally. He reminds me some of Danny O'Brien who we just signed.

Visited earlier this week.

"Tennessee, I liked their d-line coach a lot. I like him a lot. I like the way he coaches. I just feel comfortable with Tennessee," Ivie said. "It's a beautiful place. Surrounded by mountains and that's cool to me. Great facilities. The stadium is crazy, I've never seen anything like it."

The tour continued to Clemson and Georgia before Ivie and the rest would return home to Florida. Ivie said he didn't have a time table or any leaders, but after his visit the Vols were certainly a school that had him intrigued.

"I've got some ideas," said Ivie on how he hopes to handle his recruitment moving forward. "Right now I like Tennessee and they're one of the schools that have offered me. I'm just going to continue to look at schools and I think I'm going to Florida when I get back or Florida State. I just want to check them out."
