"One of my top priorities is having my major (Criminal Justice) and being really strong academically. My parents are really into my academics and it's a priority for me, I want a school that has good tradition and is up and coming, and can really develop a good relationship. Also I'd like a place that has good players that I can see myself playing with and having a good time with,"

I don't think UT has a criminal justice program, just a few courses taught out of sociology.

Correct. When I was there I had to major in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminal Justice. There was no actual major

Yea I wasn't sure about that. Unfortunate, because based on some other things mentioned in the article he seems like a kid that is not tied to staying on the left coast.

Per 247 article, Coach Staley is the one that called Redfield & told him he had an offer. Redfield said that he knows Tennessee is a very good school w/ a nice campus & that we are in the SEC. He said he will def give us a look & he may try to visit this summer when he visits his dad ( which lives in Conn. ). He said that USC, Notre Dame, & Oregon are schools sticking out to him early.

will renounce his commitment to the Trojans within the coming weeks.

If I could cherry pick three or four from them he would make that list. Right behind Ramsey and Hatcher as far as needs IMO.

Notre Dame seems to be the team in the driver seat for him now

... until he visits Eugene.

This decommitment happened precisely because Chip Kelly wouldn't let him take his official visit until he could demonstrate he's serious about considering Oregon.
