I live in Huntsville and have seen him play- not big enough for what Sal is looking for unless he can put on about 20lbs

His film looks good, not great by any means..But I guess he's good enough for Bama and they don't offer players that aren't talented.

Bama is going to throw out a lot of offers regardless of the numbers crunch they will have again next year. They will do what they did this year and what they continue to do. They will figure the numbers out at the last second by asking borderline 5* players to grayshirt to make room for the ones they know they want.

I know probably a Bama lock but good grief, at some point you'd have to think their ridiculous depth chart at LB would turn a few of these guys away that are talented enough to play early in their careers. Guys like this wont see the field there until their 4th or 5th year...

To be fair, the guy is from Alabama and probably grew up a UA/AU fan. If one of us were deciding which SEC school to play linebacker at, I'm willing to bet UT would be at the top of the list no matter how many 5 stars LB's were on the team.

Now for LB's from other states going there, I guess that's just proof that the mind of an 17/18 year old isn't a bastion of logic and reason.

AU is going after this kid Toney very hard and with Alabama's depth at LB AU stand a great chance of landing this kid. He has already visited numerous time. :)

With that said Tennessee would be next right behind AU and UA at the moment.

hate on.

He's going to Bama if they want him.

From what I am hearing he might not be a take for our class. It might appear the same thing that happened to Kwon might happen here. UA will not be able to sign as many next year. We will probably on sign around 20 with not a large senior class and a few juniors that leave early. But Toney appears to be a player on any other year we would take but might not this year. I do not think we sign more than 2LBs in this class 3 at most, and he is not that high on the board.

Been hearing that Blakely hates Auburn. What's with that? Says he wants to be back in Florida.

Went to Facebook complaining about having to do extra workouts for doing something wrong one day. It blew over quick it never was anything major.

If the kid can't be happy at Florida or AU then it's not the schools its the kid.

No kidding, at Florida he has women and beaches and at au he has more money than he knows what to do with.

It's really hard to pull players out of Alabama, but I always feel like there's a shot if they're from Huntsville.

If Alabama doesn't want him, you'd have to think he'd give UT a strong look.

Toney's only two offers before this weekend were Alabama and Auburn before Tennessee and Mississippi State offered. He thinks LSU will be the next team to offer. He had very good things to say about UT and Coach Sunseri. Said he will visit UT sometime in March. Also admits that he is a lifelong Bama fan, but is wide open right now and has no leaders.

"He offered me when he was at Bama," Toney said. "I was talking to [Tennessee assistant Derrick Ansley] on Friday. Then he put Coach Sal on the phone, and Coach Sal offered.""He's a great guy," Toney said. "He's one of my favorite coaches out there. He was the best recruiter I had when he was at Alabama."
"I'm going to try to go to Tennessee in March and probably Auburn on the 25th of this month," Toney said.

"I'm looking at academics, I want to major in engineering, Tennessee is known for that and so is Auburn," said Toney. "I want to put myself with a team, wherever I fit, I'm just going to follow my heart."
