Talked to this kid's dad last night. Willing to walk on at UT. Thinks he can beat out Palardy for the field goals & extra points job. He knows George Bullock, has competed again him in camps and refers to him as a kickoff specialist...(I'm not sure exactly what that means?) Chris' dad is an internal medicine MD in Columbia TN so paying for a year of college isn't an issue. What do you guys think? Will he get a fair chance on the practice field?

They have met Dooley and heard him give a speech in Columbia. They were impressed with him. Thought he was 'folksie'. They also met two assistants (didn't tell me names) and were less impressed by them. I didn't ask for specifics.

Here is his video. If you want to see his stats, scroll across to the end of the video...(at 6:00 mark).

I should add that this family is not really Tennessee fans. The parents graduated from Memphis State. The dad went to medical school at UT Memphis and then did his three year residency in Gainesville at University of Florida. Chris has an older brother who kicks for Purdue. So they have been fans of that for the last three years. And I guess, Titan fans before that. The grandfather is a UT-Knoxville grad so I think he has carried them to a handful of games in Knoxville over the years.

If you have the time, please leave him a little Vols love in the comments section on his YouTube video. He already has a couple of encouragements from this board...thanks for those remarks!

I would be all for it. It would be a nice battle between him and Bullock to see if one can earn a scholarship and beat out the current group of kickers.

well, we already know one thing by watching the first 10 seconds. he can kick it farther, further, and higher than palardy. doesn't take a sec coach to see that

I may be wrong, but didn't you post previously that this is your brother?

I know the Harris family. In no way, shape, or form is this Jackson Harris one of the brothers.

On topic, Chris puts them into the endzone consistently.

I probably did in jest San Diego. My user name is the kicker's little brother's name. I am really just an old high school friend of the dad. Honest!!! We grew up in Manchester together. He now lives in Columbia. I live in Winchester. That is all there is to the story. How can I prove that I am a normal 49 year old...ask me any question. I will respond faster than I can google it.

Atta boy! Thanks for clearing that up! Am I telling the truth about the dad.? Is he a doctor?

Do you know Jackson? The 14 year old 6' 4" 240 pound Jackson?

Palardy is another Kiffin recruit that has never lived up to the hype. He and Darr both need competition.

Yes Jackson has the potential to be a good player too.

Yes, if he continues to grow, I think Jackson might be very good some day. The problem is...I don't think we can convince him to be a Vol....unless, we get Chris in there first...lol!

I don't know...maybe? Haven't really thought about it. I guess I can change the name. It really never occurred to me that someone on this board might actually know him at this point.

People...is that weird? I can change names. Does someone already have the name Rod Wilks...lol?
