I just got off of the phone with Adam Yates, Humbolt asst. coach, the guy can play. Says UT will really like this kid. Has a huge heart. I met Al Wilson too back in 1993 or 1994 at JCM. I was playing WR and he was playing LB. I was told to crack back block him since the sweep was coming to my side. The ball snapped and I took off. I had him dead in my sights when all of sudden he seen me coming and de cleated me. My vision was blurry. I was seeing stars. He helped me up after the play. They beat us that year but the year before we got them. Good rivalry for a long time. Maybe Al will mentor him.

Lb's always cleaned my clock when I had to crack too. I prefered catching the ball, lol

He cannot be on academic scholarship. The only way a walk on can be is if they are non recruited. That is very unlikely at this point since it appears he is a being considered a preferred walk-on.

A compliance officer described to me the only way it can happen is if a kid showed up for tryouts at the beginning of the fall semester and the coaches had never spoken to them.

Definitely.

And way to go fellow West Tennessean!!!

Welcome to the Hill. :hi:

Haha thanks, but I wasn't talking about me walking on. I have been on the Hill proudly for 4 years now. I'm on the 5 year plan though so I won't graduate for a while yet.
