There will never be another Eric Berry. He is one of a kind.

I think when he was coming out they called him the 1 every 10 year recruits that comes out and you know they will be a great DB. Only two in that group so far and that was Berry and Champ Bailey.

Just because he says he isn't Eric Berry doesn't mean he is "hating." People need to stop being so sensitive about their local players.

What difference does it make?

Even if he was Eric Berry, Dooley would find a way to screw it all up...right?

He has to be good if you signed up with two different names just to talk about him.

This Kid Josh Shelton Never Came On Here And Said He Was Eric Berry, Some Blogger Did. I dont even know the kid, but when you look up his combine stats, his highlights, and some of the articals, he's a beast to be a 6"2 2012 Cornerback. Do your research like i did b4 you blog. THE YOUNG MAN GOT GAME!

in state or the country?

i think he means at his position. but i think for this kid in particular, we might have to wait until after this season before we start judging his ability. he is only a sophmore. things can change in either direction.

I go to MJ, and i am friends with him. Shelton has game. 2 INT in week one vs McGvock, did really well at camps over the summer and starting to draw a lot of interest.

However, before some call me biased for being his friend, etc.. judge him for yourselves.

Video of Shelton at Under Armour Classic in Atlanta. Not a whole lot to judge but its something, i will keep you updated with more stats and etc as the season rolls on.

Janzen Jackson is the closest thing to Eric Berry, but there is no other Eric Berry. Never will be.

"What I do best is (defend) deep balls and in jump ball situations," Shelton explained. "I'm also more of a run stopping corner."

"If I had to say I did the best at one camp it would be Ole Miss. The coaches were telling me I'm a good player and they want some film on me. I don't have highlight film yet," he said.

"I did well at the Duke camp, too," he continued. "Their coach said he liked my raw talent. He just needed some game film on me. That was the defensive backs coach (Derek Jones)."

This fall Shelton plans on attending games at Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Memphis and Tennessee State, since those schools are somewhat close to his home.

Yeah he goes to my school, I'm friends with him. He really likes Ole Miss right now.

He gets beat every once in a while, but like you said wth some good coaching he could be good. Has a great frame, and intangibles.

Decided to check his thread after TideWarrior said he was on the Bammers boardin the in state thread. Anyone know if we have any interest or drawn any from him yet? Looks like a good player and always have an interest in the MJ kids....

He would have great interest in Tennessee, i'm sure. Don't know how interested UT is though.

Ole Miss leads right now, Nutt loves him and he could very well end up there.

He has nice tools. I expected him to be a lot more physical at his size. He needs to use his reach a lot more.
