He does. As several have said, it's a heart vs. head thing for O'Brien. UM is close to home and there's a ton of pressure on him to choose them.

As stated here numerous times, I fully agree with this assessment. O'Brien has been a silent to Tennessee for months.

Being a Silent committment gives him the freedom to fully enjoy the once in a lifetime experience of being an elite defensive tackle being recruited by many top notch programs. He gets to visit up to 5 schools free of charge and see a lot of great college games at no cost to himself. What 18 year old kid would not want to do that??? Being a silent commitment also has allowed him to avoid harassment by the local Michigan fans for committing to an out of state program.

I remain confident that O'Brien will announce that he will be a Vol on the 7th followed by his OV on the 14th.

Wouldn't want to be in this kids shoes. Sounds like he has been having a real mental battle over his choice. Wish him well wherever he chooses to play.

I hope he is a Vol but I'm getting a little bit of a Gabe Wright feeling here. He doesn't play the game as GW did but if he was already a Vol commitment, I think he would have gone public by now.

He is a Vol! Would be willing to bet anything under the sun that he is orange.

It looked like Michigan for the last month, but I was wrong. He will be a good one. Can't wait to see him in orange.

Heard from a VERY reliable reporter close to Danny and his family. It was not Josh Hemboldt or however you spell his name. This is brand new info.

You might as well just add him to the commit list. That's how solid this info is.

He's been saying that he was a Michigan lock until the Rivals guy said that O'Brien was favoring Tennessee. I'd caution placing tons of confidence in what he's saying.

That's true.

But for the most part his info has been pretty accurate throughout Danny's recruitment so we'll see. I still can't get too excited because things can change in recruiting at any moment.

We are going to get Obrien Shanks Jacobs Autry Taylor Sentimore and Hamilton!!! What a dline haul!!! no insider info just a feeling.

We certainly won't get all of them. I think we really do have a shot at O'Brien, Autry, outside shot at Hamilton, and we probably take either Sentimore or Autry not both. I don't know much about Shanks; does anyone know where we stand with him?

What I'm saying is that apparently our staff likes Jacobs, and O'Brien, and Hamilton more than Sentimore. From what I've seen, Hamilton is a college DT.

Oh this is going to get interesting now. :popcorn:

While im not one in favor of big DEs normally. When they are Elite, they stay there. Hamilton is an Elite DE and pass rusher and will not move inside.

You may be exactly right. I'm not pretending to be a scout because I'm definitely not. I'm just saying that there are a lot of people saying he's a DT.
