Tennessee has offered.

“I’m very explosive on the field. When I have the ball in my hands I think I’m the hardest man in America to bring down. I’ve also got the fastest first step. I want to improve my endurance.”
-Perkins on Scout.com

He finished his junior season with 783 yards on 85 carries, ten receptions for 180 yards (six total TDs) and 63 tackles, 13 sacks and 21 tackles for loss. Perkins says he can bench 325-pounds, squat 450 and claims a 39-inch vertical jump.

We could be recruiting him for any number of positions:
The 6-foot-2, 209-pound athlete is one of the most versatile prospects in the Midwest and has seen time at running back, wide receiver, linebacker, and defensive end. At Saturday's Ohio State NIKE Camp, Perkins was one of the top overall performers, working out as a defensive end. Opposing offensive tackles had a tough time handling his speed off the edge as Perkins was able to win nearly all of his reps.

He's not short on confidence either.....

He's not lying either. I just watched his film and this guy requires 3 or 4 tacklers before he's brought to the ground. I love how this guy will turn upfield with the ball instead of shying away from contact; he's not afraid to hit anybody. He's got the right mixture of power and finesse. That was one hell of a highlight reel.

Seems like there are alot of kids from Indiana being recruited hard this year. I think the kid would make for a great S. If he wants to play RB, I think he would want to look elsewhere. JMO

This kid looks like the real deal. Looks like he has the potential to play the tweener (S/LB) on D. Any vibe on who he likes?

The talent in Indiana for the next few years is picking up. There are some kids a little under the radar at the moment but are picking up steam. I know a few personaly. :wink2:

I agree. IN is picking it up big time. This year seems like a breakthrough for the state, at least in regards to the number of guys with BCS offers.

New article on 247. Says something about what position the coaches want him at. I'm guessing safety, but if someone has access you can help us all. :)

"Tennessee's a great school. They're going to be back in the hunt this coming season I'd say. It's a prestigious school and they've got a lot to offer. They've got good coaches and a good setup and everything. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out."
"By midsummer I'm going to narrow it down to my top five and then plan to visit those schools," he said. "I think Tennessee might be one of them."
-Perkins

Syracuse is the only school locked into his top 5 ATP. He also says he hopes to visit Tennessee at some point.

I just saw his film. I like it.

If we get him, I hope it is at safety.

This class should be about 75% Indiana kids IMO. Raid the Hoosiers!
