We know our fate as a historic program that either has risen out of the ashes to glory or is just a pretendor hoping til next year for the 27th season.

You really think these last few seasons are comparable to the previous seasons under Queefin, Doolander, Botch, and Cornbread? They’re not even close. The Vols have been in the playoff conversation twice now. Name 2 seasons that happened under those coaches. They’re 4-2 against their biggest rivals after going 1-30.

More importantly, the Vols ain’t completely out of it, even with a loss. I don't care what espn says. They will need a LOT of help to make the playoffs, but it still aint over. There is still a lot of football left to play.

my suggestion is enjoy this while it happening. Losing ain't fun, But going 10-2 is a YUGE improvement, especially with a RS-Fr at QB. Heup had to rebuild this program from scratch. He 66 scholarship players when he took over. Nobody predicted this program would do anything after he was hired. Now they’re competing with the big boys for a chance at ATL and the CFP. They’re recruiting at a high level and you can actually see development. They’re crushing the transfer portal.

They are a closer than they have been in 27 years.

Well most of those teams couldn’t even pretend to be competitive. So technically, being a pretender is a big step up from where we were

And we will be in the playoff discussion for the foreseeable future. This program is out of the ashes already
