don't believe so.....Geno is from south fla but they could be related or Papa could have been a "rolling stone". Atkins is a BIG boy saw a pic of him from the MVP camp a few weeks back. He passing the eyeball test...Chad Simmons spoke highly about the kid . Ideal fit for 3-4 NT.

Alabama, Auburn and Florida have also shown considerable interest, with Atkins saying he plans on visiting each of those schools once Thomson High is done with the state soccer playoffs (Thomson lost to Cairo 4-0 Thursday).

Along with upcoming trips to Alabama, Auburn and Florida, Atkins said he plans on making another visit to Athens in the coming weeks to meet with UGA's academic representatives.

"I like Georgia a lot. I like their academics, and just how they showed me the life of being a Bulldog," he said. "But I still want to wait it out, because I do not want to just jump on the first offers. I need to get over to Alabama, because Coach (Kirby) Smart and I need to talk."

Atkins will be the first one in his family to graduate high school.

Quinn Pitcock, a DT from Ohio State that played for the Colts, played indoor soccer in high school.

It really helps with footwork, agility and conditioning.

Oh yeah, I'm sure it does. It's just funny to picture a kid that might play Division I DT that plays soccer, especially considering my own preconceived notions of a stereotypical soccer player.

any hope here or is he pretty much a UGA lock? sounds like a great athlete, size looks good too, he's already 6-4 300 lbs, imagine when his body matures and he enters a college weight program. yikes.
