Dang. Mississippi State hasn’t won a game against a ranked non-conference opponent since 1991?

Is that about them being bad or them routinely scheduling bad teams for their OOC scheduling?

And they’re tearing down the goal posts for beating a team ranked #12.

…the next time anyone says anything about the Kentucky or the Arkansas or the Vanderbilt or the Missouri or the South Carolina programs and how their fans celebrate wins or what they should be celebrating as big wins…this needs to be brought up.

Like, any time someone brings up anything regarding field rushing.

I am certainly impressed State pulled that out, but I do not think they are good and I am not intimidated by them whatsoever. It’s pretty clear what you have to do to beat them. You take away that speed receiver and they are COOKED.

They haven't beaten a ranked OOC team since 1991. They absolutely should.
They’ve beaten much not only ranked conference opponents but much higher ranked conference opponents since then, though.

If anything it’s more reflective of them feeling/excited as though they’re finally back out of the hellish 5-win and 2-win pit they’ve been in the last 2 years.

The out of conference opponent part kind of seems more about them choosing to schedule in a way focused mostly just on prioritizing bowl eligibility, scheduling 4 cupcakes each year as their OOC opponents.

Meh, I'm always down for a good field rushing.

After the show we put on vs Bama in 22 things were getting a bit absurd though. Everyone trying to be the cool kids.

Honestly, is rushing the field vs Bama last year was cringe looking back at things

If we do manage to take down Georgia next weekend, I would not be opposed to a spirited rush of the field.

It's probably also cathartic after losing the most beloved college football coach of the 21st Century so suddenly. They deserved more time with the Pirate.
