"Georgia Tech offered in the last few days I think. They told my coach about the offer," he said. "Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Arkansas, Ole Miss and a few more are recruiting me and Arkansas State has also offered."

"Coach Hampton was recruiting me for Georgia Tech but he left and I really haven't heard from them since that," he said. "Arkansas State, Memphis and Auburn are probably recruiting me the hardest."

"When choosing a school I'm looking for academics and a great football program of course. I'm looking to make it to the NFL so I want a coach with a good NFL background. I also want to play early. I'm fine with taking a redshirt year because I know a lot of great players do that but I want to play real quick," he said.

Just talked to him

"I think Tennessee is close to offering. They came to see me today and Coach Thompson said when I come visit them in a month the offer is mine"

"Tennessee is heavily favored. One of my top schools"

Fantastic.
As usual, we should watch for the two in-state mudslingers in Tuscaloosa and Auburn.

Jumping on the Harper bandwagon
The May evaluation period actually starts in mid-April, which is about the same time things started to really heat up for linebacker Harding Harper (Montgomery, Ala./Carver).

"He really has turned into a hot commodity lately and he received a lot of offers," Carver coach Billy Gresham said. "It started with the beginning of the May evaluation period. Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, Arkansas State, Florida International, and Memphis have all offered now."

Harper moved from Birmingham Jackson-Olin to Carver back in January. Many schools didn't realize this until they showed up at Carver. After seeing him in person, seeing his transcript and then watching his junior film, they soon realized they needed to jump on the Harper bandwagon.

"We get a lot of traffic here," Gresham said. "He passes the eye ball test, has a 3.8 GPA and has scored a 19 ACT, and his junior year tape has really impressed everyone. Coaches leave and then offer shortly after. It's really the first time they have seen Harding."

Gresham said teams like Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama, Stanford, Southern Miss and others all could be teams that offer in the very near future. -Jamie Newberg

Harper needs to come up to camp and get that offer that's waiting on him. I've heard he is really big on UT and isn't the type to drag his recruitment out, despite all the attention he's getting.

"I was overwhelmed," Harper said of the Tennessee offer. "My brother goes to college up that way at Alabama A&M. I love their program. They had numerous outstanding players come through there. They’re in the SEC, the best conference in the nation. I watch all of their games and love the way they play defense. Knoxville isn’t too far away either. I’m excited. They’re definitely high on my list."

"I’m definitely going to take an official visit to Tennessee," Harper said. "I’ll camp there this summer.
