I have no inside info on Shanks. If coaches didn't think we had a legit shot, they wouldn't waste time and resources. I think Dooley and staff are open and honest with these kids and also care about guiding them to be men.
That stuff starts to weigh on a kid who hears a bunch of BS from other coaches.
From all indications, Shanks is a smart young man and this staff has made a connection with him.

Just because they are in constant contact doesnt mean we have a great shot at him. They are in contact with probably dozens of kids, some they could get to commit right now and some like Shanks who they are trying to flip and will try until he signs.

This staff is relentless and it paid off last year with Marlin Lane. They know even if the kid is not giving them much if any love as long as they keep that channel open and stay after them, anything can happen.

I understand how recruiting goes thank you. However, sending a letter or making a call is different than visits that require much more resources and valuable time.

If you are talking about Shanks setting up an official visit to Tennessee then yes. If you are talking about the coaches making an in-home visit to see Shanks or a visit to see him at his school then I'd say no.

In all honesty if ut gets this guy that would be a great momentum for our DL recruiting bc it seems like all the big time guys dont really consider ut right now.
