I don't worry too much about ratings in BB but if we play like we did saturday and beat Gonzaga I believe we will move up big time I think a win out west will set us up for a great SEC run

I'm not really concerned, our RPI will tell the story if we can win against the Zags and go 13-3 and make it to Sunday of the SEC Tournament. We would then get a 2 seed overall and possibly a 1 if it works out right

Well if the Zags could have been ranked then we would be playing 4 ranked teams in the next 5 games. We get through that stretch and we will get our respect.

I don't see how they could get ranked higher. Possibly jumping Gtown, but no way do they fall that far after losing to Memphis. Duke lost in OT, Texas beat us down. UCLA is still better than UT.

Texas AM is ahead of us and shouldn't be. We have three quality away/neutral wins. They have none. they also have the same record to us.

A&M's demolition of Ohio State in Madison Square Garden was more impressive than our win over West Virginia and their win over Washington in NYC is comparable to beating Western Kentucky in Nashville. Tennessee does have the advantage of having won a road game against a possible tournament team.

I'd take WVU over OSU any day of the week this year.

True, but A&M beat them by about a 1,000 points. Washington is probably better than Western Kentucky.

Well we'll see how we do against OSU in Knoxville this year. I have a feeling we beat them by about 1,000 points. They really are bad. Not as bad as Florida though, apparently.

I agree. As I watched their game this weekend,I never got the sense that OSU was all that good, just that Florida was really that bad

poll that puts clemson over ole miss when ole miss beat clemson and stayed undefeated

why does it surprise you? Clemson was number 15 last week and Ole Miss was unranked. It's hard to drop a team too far after their first loss to another undefeated team. This happens all the time in college football. If Ole Miss keeps winning, it will work itself out.

I am thinking Memphis should have jumped UNC after the Georgetown win. UNC's best wins are again OSU and Kentucky, by 11 and 9 respectively. Memphis beat the #4 team by 14 points.

If Memphis beats #17 Arizona this Saturday, will they get moved up? Or will UNC have to lose one to drop?

I think Tennessee has enough big games left to help their poll status and more importantly RPI status.

Doesn't really matter though, like everyone has said, polls don't matter as much. It works itself out at the end.

it might work itself out but obviously people pay attention to the poll so dropping them past an undefeated team who just beat them would make more sense to me. did i see this right or did vandy barely beat tenn. st? is tenn state good? only thing ive heard from them is anthony mason and richardsons son carrying a gun. pretty good program?

North Carolina's best win is against BYU, who they beat on a neutral court. They beat Kentucky and Ohio St. both on the road. Memphis does have good road wins against Cincinnati and Oklahoma, but their other big wins against USC and Georgetown are at home.

Edit: The Oklahoma and USC game were both at MSG

I am not saying Memphis would not be a legitimate number 1, in fact I think they are the best team in the country right now. I just don't know how you justify dropping North Carolina until they lose.

They are nothing special, but they did play Indiana relatively close at Indiana. The Vandy game wasn't the first time this year they decided to hang with a quality opponent. TSU also led Georgia Tech at the half earlier in the season if memory serves correct.

Memphis played Southern Cal in Madison Square Garden. The Oklahoma game was also in MSG.

You are correct, I overlooked the BYU game.

So Memphis has two top 25 wins (home and neutral) and UNC has one top 25 win (road). I have no problem keeping the polls the way they are. :good!: If the Tigers beat Arizona though, that might be another story. They have to beat 'Zona first though.
