One of the top junior defensive tackles in Texas is Quincy Russell out of Class 3A Sam Houston High School in San Antonio. Russell led the team in tackles as a sophomore and did it again this past season.
DT Quincy Russell Visited, Received Offer ($)
The latest-breaking news of a visitor from the first Texas Junior Day last weekend was that of San Antonio Sam Houston's Quincy Russell, one of three defensive tackles who visited campus. Like Desmond Jackson and Marquis Anderson, Russell also received a Texas offer, but obviously did not commit while on campus.
With offers from Nebraska and Oklahoma, among several others, Russell plans on taking other visits and doesn't plan on making a decision in the immediate future. One of the visits, though his coach didn't mention it in the article, could be to Oklahoma this weekend for the Sooner Junior Day. However, a major factor could be that the Longhorns likely have only one spot available in the class -- there's some pressure on Russell or Anderson to jump on it if they want to become a Longhorn.
