Not bad offers, Remember Marshall has Doc Holiday so they will be op the up. He needs to put on a few pounds but 6'6 running a 4.7 is very good for a TE. a significant position of need. ith MacLain coming in who seems to me like more of a blocking TE, I'd prefer a stud athlete who can really stretch the field.

Most would agree that we need 2 TE's next signing class. He should be one of them, IMO

He need to put on some weight to be TE. He would be like a big WR at his current size but I am sure the kid will put on some more weight during his SR year..

Scout doesn't even have the young man listed on it's prospect list, but I thought hey, a local kid that could make it at D1 with about 40 or 50 lbs of weight. He's not showing any offers yet, but I think he could be a sleeper, hopefully Dooley pays him some attention.

:question: hmm.... seems the good ol' Volunteer state is going to have some pretty decent talent next year.

Saw Brendan and his folks at church yesterday and was hoping to catch them on the way out but got side-tracked. I've posted this somewhere on another thread but his mom and dad are friends of ours and he has several offers at this point including Tennesse and supposedly had decided on Duke because of the academics (his mom is a lawyer) but with his team-mate Mack Crowder (Mack's dad is an old team-mate of mine. Got an e-mail from him this morning) recently getting an offer from Tennessee, I can say our chances for a two-fer are better than ever. I didn't go to any of their games last year even though they were ranked #1 in the state but They say he's fast and I was told he has an incredible vertical. I posted elsewhere that his grandfather played in the NBA but it was an uncle.

Luke Stocker part II...he even looks like him...

We need to lock him and his teammate up...two legit D-1 players at positions of need right in our backyard...getting them would be huge and losing them would be huge

He does have a Luke Stocker type build btu I truely think he has better speed...I seen him play a lot this past season and they did not use him near enough...They relied on the running game to open the pass a lot when they could have used Brendan more out in the flank to do the same as running...He has great hands but when he gets out over the middle matched up with a LB he is an absolute BEAST...Here in Bristol we are hearing a lot about him and Duke as affore meantioned but you never know how the influence of other high school team players that might commit might have in a decision like Mack Crowder but also he could lean to Va Tech because of Bradley Tallman there this year!

Saw Brendan's mom at the pool yesterday. I was sitting with a group of people all of whom are friends of the Downs family. I tried to see if there was any info that I could get from her (Erin) without diggin' or being impolite. I asked her if he was still open to the other offers or was the Duke commit a done deal. I felt like she was pretty uncomfortable with talking about that stuff for him.
The impression that I got was that he likes Duke quite a bit but was not UN-interested in other offers that he had or might be getting in addition to what is already on the table. She said it's up to him. She said the coaches at our school (Bristol Tennessee high) were wowed by the level of recruiting that they were seeing.

I know that doesn't help much but that's all I can say.

Thanks for the update. Does anyone feel like high school football recruiting is getting a little out of hand? These unproven high school Athletes are literally becoming celebraties. It cracks me up.

Yes, he has a UT offer but had already committed to Duke. I've been told that Brendan grew up a big Volunteer fan and the problem is that Tennessee came into the picture a little slow here. I will say that I like our odds at this point.
