“I have always been a big Auburn fan,” Dunaway told InsideTennessee.com Tuesday evening. “They signed a whole bunch of linebackers the last couple of years and I know that. I like what Coach (Darin) Hinshaw was telling my coach today about the Vols need at linebacker.”

“He told my coach they really like my size,” Dunaway said. “They want me to take the ACT test again and they want me to attend camp in Knoxville this summer.”

“I’m definitely going to summer camp at Rocky Top with a lot of my teammates,” Dunaway said. “I’m looking for my first offer; I would love to get an offer from Tennessee."

He does not hold any offers yet, but Scout says if he can get his grades in order, his offer list will explode this summer.

Says he has a 2.5 GPA...IMO it's easier to get a passing score than to bring up a bad GPA...

If that's all that's holding him back then he'll defintely blow up after summer camps

He showed out this past week at the BadgerSports 7on7 Tournament in Tuscaloosa. Alot of big name talent was there so it isn't like he did it against scrubs either.

Cameron Clear and Jaiari Dunaway played for different teams out of Tennessee in this event, but both showed they should be receiving more attention in recruiting than they are currently.

Dunaway is linebacker out of Mufreesboro (TN) Siegel and the 6-foot-2, 220 pounder showed good lateral movement and strength over the weekend. He was able to knock inside receivers off their routes and he stayed with the backs nicely also. He has yet to pick up an offer yet, but he showed the ability to go with his size to play on the next level in this 7on7 tournament.

From a physical standpoint, few looked the part more than Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Siegel linebacker Jaiari Dunaway. At around 6 feet 2, 220 pounds, Dunaway is a chiseled inside backer. He is a little bit raw but athletically he has a world of potential. At 220 pounds, Dunaway has been clocked at under 4.6 seconds in the 40, he eats up ground between himself and the ball-carrier and his length allows him to be very effective in passing lanes.

Bryant is reporting that he has been told by several reliable sources that Dunaway has just picked up at UT offer as long as he gets his grades in order.

This kid sounds promising. Don't like the fact that he's a TN kid and likes the barn though.

Dunaway's offer is not official according to Bryant. His grades have to make a step in the right direction before the offer is official. He got the info from one of Dunaway's all-star coaches who received a call from Dunaway today.

If he wants to play on the hill, then getting those grades up sounds like good enough motivation to do so. Sounds like if he meets his end of the bargain the scholly is his. Its all on him.

Effort being rewarded, sounds like a good way to evaluate the character of a kid who wants to play major D-1 ball. I like it.

He really needs to contact Buck Fitzgerald and get in his academic program down there in Nashville. The biggest part iirc is helping get kids ACT scores up and that sounds like what Dunaway needs the most since his GPA doesn't look to be killing him.

Stone was in this program last year and Richardson is in it this year. Getting Dunaway with a guy like Buck would do wonders for him.

I'll make sure to send Buck an email and make sure that he has if name, but he probably does already. :)
