We've been talking about this guy for awhile. About time for a thread on him.

"He and I have a great relationship," Landry remarked about his friendship with Vol assistant Frank Wilson. "We talk quite a bit and every time we talk it's like a father/son type of relationship. I've learned a lot from him. He's a great coach and a great person."

As a skins fan I have to mention that I learned from a previous poster that he is the cousin of former LSU star and current starting safety of the Washington Redskins, LaRon Landry (taken 1st round #6 2007 draft)

I'm really not sure if that's true? I have never heard that before reading that on here today. They aren't from the same town.

they don't have to live in the same town, i don't live in the same town as my cousins. Maybe it's a Louisiana thing.

You're right, probably shouldn't have said that. :)

I just never heard before today that they were related, so I'm not sure that it's true.

Barton Simmons:

Jarvis Landry (2011). Wow, he's a baller. I'm not sure if he really has elite top end speed but his routes are so crisp and so sharp. He's really fluid and effortless as a route-runner and he just snatches the ball out of the air. Landry was probably the most impressive wide receiver with the complete package there.

Kid would be the best prospect in the state if he were a Senior THIS year. I can't imagine how good he'll be a year from now.

“LSU is the in-state team, and I am always watching them,” he said. “Basically, I love them to death. LSU is out front right now, and they will always be out front.”

Thats a supposed quote from an LSU fan I know.

He also said that

I don't think they're related, but he's a damn monster.

I think he's better than Reuben Randle, and i'm almost positive he's better than Trovon Reed.

Probably the best player in the state next year, although Jeremauria Rasco looks like he could be too. 2011 is going to be so good in Louisiana.

The first part was when I asked if he was related to LaRon

What about our '11 committ "Freak" he probably would be the top overall prospect in the nation right now.

He would as well. All four of the guys I mentioned would be the #1 prospect in the state if they were Seniors IMO.
