Ugh...he's from Etowah. I live in Woodstock where this school is and I have never heard of him. He can't be THAT good. Now I'm worried.

Now we don't have to hear the chicken little Vol fans whine about not having a commit.

Nice pick up!

That's ONE from the state of Georgia. I hope that Dooley gets a foothold in there and is a thorn in Richt's side. It may be a while before we're ready to win the East, but we need to widen the toehold the last coach started.

He got an offer without having to attend camp, so I consider that pretty good. He's also 6-2 230 lbs as a MLB, so that's a need right now. Also, he was being recruited by Auburn.
Well Scout says 6'1 210 so thats a pretty big difference. Probably he is actually 5'11-6'. Somebody go measure him already!

It would really be nice to know who is his recruiter and who thinks he can play. If it's Lance Thompson, Im fine with it but if this was a Dooley-only decision I am very skeptical.

Edit: Nevermind, Google shows his myspace page:MySpace - www.myspace.com/101161049. He cant weigh over 185 in that photo.

I'm just telling you that the program there is VERY average and does not have a track record of producing impact players. I am NOT excited about this kid in the least. He is not even mentioned around here. I follow HS football here and have never heard his name. Maybe I missed him but he has to be WAY under the radar. He probably would have been a stud at La Tech.

We never offered. He would never be able to start for us.

So I'm assuming from this matter-of-fact statement that you either:

a.) Live in this GA town as an Auburn fan and have seen this kid numerous times.
b.) Or you get Etowah HS highlight rolls mailed to you and you have written up a full eval on this kid.

You also say "we never offered" like NSD '11 is coming up this weekend.

I'm not going to pretend this gets me brimming with excitement, but if he's a LB and Thompson signs off on taking a commitment from this kid, I see it as nothing but a positive to start this recruiting year.

LOYALEAGLE may not live there but I do. And I have seen their team a few times and this kid NEVER jumped off the page. Like I have said twice now....I have NEVER heard of him until tonight.

I know stars dont make or break a recruit, but this this guy is a one star and we are the only offer he has. Granted we are not the program we once were but I know we are better than this. Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions. We'll see:popcorn:

Who knows maybe he's a late bloomer.

Who says he's a starter... we need guys on special teams too.

I'll defer to the guys who get paid for this sort of thing.

Fulmer got paid handsomely to recruit stiffs like Josh Hawkins and Carson Anderson. Just sayin'.

I do worry that the "perceived" caliber of talent UT's coaches are going after are sometimes not the same as others...

I just want to be on a level playing field.
