Ft. Lauderdale (FL) Dillard

Height:6'0"
Weight:190 pounds
40:4.5
Shuttle: 4.23 seconds
Vertical:31 inches

5'11" 180 lbs Dillard HS in Ft. Lauderdale. Making the move to FS from OLB for this upcoming season. Got a nice build and looked good moving around in practice today. Probably grow into a LB as he continues to mature.

Coach Gran verbally offered him last week (all you can do until Sept. 1), and will get plenty more offers from SEC, ACC schools. He has been talking with Stanford, so grades will not be a concern.

These INT's at the Miami NUC are pretty impressive.

That one handed pick in the combine video was awesome. The vimeo video was pretty good also. Thanks for nice info Luke!

You need someone who knows what they are doing to redesign your website. It looks awful.

lol i know it looks awful, but it has solid info. The owner of the website is doing a total redesign, and the developer should be done within the month and trust me it's going to look A LOT better. We're also adding a message board pretty soon.

“I have 13 verbal offers right now,” Lyons told InsideTennessee.com. “I have one from Notre Dame, one from Tennessee, Auburn and Purdue. I’m excited about my offer from Tennessee. They are a great school with a great tradition in the SEC.”

He grew up a Florida fan, his mom went there, and his sister is there now, but he has no favorites.

This what Wayne had to say about his college req.-"“Opportunity to play early and get a great education.” Lyons said. “Academics and athlete's graduation rate are extremely important to me.”

Lyons also said that he doesn’t feel any pressure to stay in state, and that distance won’t play a factor in his final decision."

We need all the Lbs we can get, and stealing them out of Florida is that much sweeter.

Oh duh. I keep thinking its like school hasn't started yet where '11 is soph, '12 is fresh.

My bad. Theres still a good chance he turns into a LB though.

Recap of Lyons' junior season. 75 tackles, 21 tackles for loss, six forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, two interceptions and a defensive touchdown. Ran a 4.48 at Florida's camp last year.
Says he has 15 offers right now. Says that playing time, coaching and program prestige are his biggest factors. Wants to major in accounting or engineering and distance isn't a factor.

Might be the top safety in the country for '11. His Scout profile lists offers from the likes of Alabama, Florida, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tennessee and others

"I am a hard hitting playmaker that's always around the ball," Lyons said. "I have cover skills and hitting skills. Most teams like me as a strong safety, some as a cornerback. It doesn't matter to me but I probably prefer safety."

"I am going to Florida State for their Junior Day on the 20th. Last summer I went to a Notre Dame summer camp and I went to Stanford for their game against Washington. I also went to a few Miami and Florida games.

"I am pretty open right now. There are so many new things coming at me now and everyone hasn't offered. Teams like Florida, LSU and Clemson haven't offered yet but are really recruiting me. So we shall see what happens."

His junior film along with the performance at the combine have led to many big time offers. Already Alabama, Florida State, Illinois, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, USC and a host of others have issued offers to Lyons.

"I had a pretty good junior year," said Lyons. "As a team we didn't have a good season, but I had pretty good stats. I had 21 tackles for loss, one that turned into a defensive touchdown."

So far, Lyons has visited Miami, Florida, Florida State, Stanford, South Florida, and Notre Dame. Next up is a planned visit to Ohio State for their spring game when he will be accompanied by Jeremy Cash. He also intends to take all of his official visits this fall before making a decision during his senior year.
