defensive end/linebacker Curt Maggitt (6-3, 210, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. / Dwyer) had to take it easy for most of the spring due to continuing efforts to rehab a torn labrum which required surgery earlier this year.

Players who can rush the passer and effectively drop back into coverage are always in demand, and that’s exactly what Maggitt can provide for a defense. His ability and versatility have shined through in non-contact drills during the month of May. The fact that he can play multiple positions makes him more attractive as a player as he can adapt to most schemes.

"It's really no one in particular but I want to see a bunch of other schools and see what's out there. I want to see what I like and what I don't like. I want to see a bunch of schools in the ACC and the SEC like North Carolina, Tennessee and then Wisconsin just a bunch of different teams."

Says it will be a while before he makes his decision.

This isn't an event that does Maggitt justice because he lacks great size and struggles against big linemen, but his athleticism and quickness is evident and he is surprisingly effective on inside pass rush moves when you expect him to just rush the outside all day with his quick first step. Maggitt is also a student of the game and made adjustments during the camp, showing his ability to be coached. Can he get big enough to be a legit defensive end in a major conference? Maybe not as an every-down guy, but as a pass rushing specialist or a prospect that can stand up at times and then put his hand down in passing situations, he has impressive upside.

In the meantime, he has received in-home visits from Florida, Alabama and LSU. Maggitt lists Wisconsin, Alabama, LSU, Florida, Tennessee and Iowa St. as schools he is still considering.

"Right now there are still no leaders or anything because I'm still trying to figure everything out and I honestly don't know which school will be the best for me. I have so many good choices and I love hearing from all of these coaches.

"Florida coaches and Tennessee coaches were very relieved when I told them I wasn't announcing until February. They are happy because I haven't taken visits there yet."

"I will visit Florida, Tennessee or Iowa State but I haven't set any dates for those visits or anything yet. I still have to decide where to use my two visits."

Maggitt is a freak rushing the passer. He is by most OT's and in the backfield before they're out of their stance

He's a lot thicker than 195, but I agree that he plays OLB.

I'd be willing to bet he's about 220 right now.
