Scout.com: Isaac Luatua Profile

"Tennessee just offered Isaac," said head coach Mike Moschetti. "He's really, really fired up. His interest level is real high with Tennessee."

Moschetti said Tennessee had been doing their homework on Luatua before offering.

"Coach (Harry) Hiestand is recruiting him," said Moschetti. "They've done a good job of writing him and emailing him for over a month. He's fired up, this is his first SEC offer.

"What an honor to get offered by Tennessee," said Luatua. "The tradition, the SEC, the coaching staff is as good as it get's. Coach Hiestand is a hard nosed guy that is somebody I could see myself playing for. He was in the NFL the last five yrs and I just love his mentality. Playing offensive line is about toughness and effort and coach Hiestand is somebody that in the short time of talking to get's me excited and I just want to go knock somebody down for."

Per Scout...

This kid sounds like he loves the Vols. Looks like he may be the Center we want.

There is a center with a comparatively even offer list in our backyard, just sayin.

When it comes to OL, I think I'll just nod and smile at whatever Coach Hiestand says he wants. If he says this kid is the center he wants, then that's the center we should all want.

Don't get it twisted, I'd be fine with this guy.

"Isaac was just offered by Tennessee," La Mirada head coach Mike Moschetti said. "Tennessee is very High on Isaac's list right now, Vols offensive line coach, Harry Hiestand has done an outstanding job with Isaac's recruitment."

Hiestand's sales pitch:

Coach Hiestand: Did I mention that everyone that plays for me-- plays in the NFL?

Hiestand coaches NFL players and if he sees tape and decides that this kid in CA is a better prospect than Crowder and worth the extra effort and time of dealing with someone in California there must be a reason. Just saying...

Fast rising offensive lineman Isaac Luatua (La Mirada, Calif./La Mirada) picked up a major offer out of the SEC and it sounds like the athlete has a new team to beat.

"Tennessee just offered Isaac," La Mirada coach Mike Moschetti said. "I really think that's where he's going to end up. He has a great relationship with their offensive line coach, Harry Hiestand and he's recruiting Isaac harder than anyone else.

"He came from the Chicago Bears and said Isaac reminds him a lot of their center, Olin Kreutz. They have the same body type and both are just really physical and want to kick the crap out of you on every play. There's something about SEC football and Isaac has no problem leaving the region. He wants to commit early, sometime in the summer and I think Tennessee could be the place."

Would love to see this kid in orange. I love the relationship him and Hiestand have made.

We are in really good shape with quite a few OL.

Good thing that we offered a scholly to this kid early. A lot of the times being the first to offer holds much weight with the decision to commit.
