"Tennessee became the first school to offer Allen Carson and the big defensive tackle out of Alabama talks about it right here."

"They (Tennessee) are first to offer me, so they have to be number one," he said. "Other schools like Auburn, Colorado State, and Alabama are showing interest, but none of those have offered. Being first means something and they have to be on top."

Per Scout...

Vols lead.

We lead for Ronald Powell too because of being the first to offer then we got passed by everyone else who offered.

It wouldn't be the first time and I seriously doubt it will be the last time this ever happens.

yea, I know what you were saying. i was trying to make the point that we probably won't be fighting the 2 top programs in the country for Carson.

"I had a really good trip up there. I already liked Tennessee, but that visit really made them stand out more," Carson said of his stop in Knoxville. "I had a chance to see them in the meetings and watch them practice. We got to see some of the facilities and stuff, it was all really nice."

"Coach (Lance) Thompson is the main guy recruiting me and he's real cool, but I also talk to Coach (Chuck) Smith a lot," Carson said of the former Vol player who is now his alma mater's defensive line coach. "Coach Smith is great. He really relates well to his players because it really wasn't all that long ago when he was playing himself in the NFL."

"They're on top right now. Tennessee has been growing on me for awhile and right now they're up there," Carson said.

- Rivals

UT leads and he will be back in Knoxville in June for camp.

Kid would make a great run stuffer, plus he has three junior teammates that are going to be sick.

Kids looks as strong as an ox. I plan on catching a few Oxford games this year. It would be awesome having a pipeline there.

This kid is big. One thing I've noticed and I think I read earlier is how Dooley and this staff are going for bigger DTs that take up space, which I love. I would love to see our DL as big DTs and fast and physical DEs with a Terrance Cody type rotating in as well. But to be honest most of the DTs this staff has offered are Cody's size.

Btw Big Dan just went 1st Rd 26th pick Arizona Cardinals. Good luck Big D!

You have to wonder what will happen if Auburn or Alabama offers him. He has taken visits to both. Hopefully they won't offer until it's too late or not at all.

Rivals is saying that he's not going to commit to anyone anytime soon. They kind of hinted that he's waiting to see if Bama offers.
