$100 A Barrel Oil is on the Way

Rocking the market might have been a bit strong, especially in light of the fact that Citi's analyst said we are just as likely to go to $40 as we are $200.

Now honestly, why would the media report something to relax and give hope to the people, rather than encourage further hysteria??

It's amazing how many parts of a discussion are conveniently not shows in the clips.

No luck increasing production...

After it goes to $150, then what? Does the crash begin then?

Man, I really thought $125 would be the top. Goldman is trying, and others to push it up to $200. They put out a report a little while back stating they "thought" it was going to $200. It wouldn't suprise me if it does, I really, really hope not. It's a big guessing game right now.

How are our supplies looking vs oil refining capacity? Is it a shortage of oil or a shortage of refining capacity?

On a (I guess) positive note, at least all of this product has value..which was not the case in the .com bust. So...we see crazy price hikes..but when it comes back down, the bottom isn't going to fall out from under it.
Getting back on topic, will $100 a barrel be on the way again? :p

there is no supply problem and the refining margins are so slim that the refiners are losing $$$$ like crazy. It's all speculation.

So, have the prices at the pump reached the point where any of you have radically altered your driving habits yet?

Not driving habits but I have altered my spending habits. I cut my own grass now. I had paid a guy to do it the past 2 years. Oh, and I have altered my driving in the sense that I drive the wife's car to work and the stay at home wife drives my truck around town.

how many of us actually have viable alternatives to driving? not many.
Well I've made the subtle changes already. Like shopping the grocery that is closer to home, rather than the nicer one across town... or eating at home more, rather than dining out so much. Fewer trips back to the house at lunch time.

Small stuff that extends the life of a tank.

Only 3.72 here, I imagine it's vastly higher in Droskifornia...
