I say we, the fans send the athletic dept. a message.

Do you think if we could get less than 100,000 fans at next weeks game that would stir things up enough?

I am so F-ING MAD!!!

We looked like a bunch of high school powder puffs out there

F---!!!!

the only way we as fans would be able to drastically convince Mike Hamilton to fire fulmer is if those 100,000 fans all started an angry "Fire Fulmer" mob and showed up on campus every night and day with fire torches and no one showed up for the games

it would stir things up a little i guess, but we'll have over 100,000 fans there for the simple fact that if the usuals don't go then ppl who hardly ever get a chance to go will pick up the tickets for cheap and show up

not a chance in the world that happens though, at least not the official attendance. Did any of you go to the Marshall game last year in the pouring ran where the start got delayed by lightning for like an hour. There were probably no more than 60,000 there that day, and they still announced the attendace as 104,000

Don't try and weenie out of this..Sounds like you don't want to stop going to the game...We need to let the PLAYERS know that we support them, but not the staff...I have the same problem with our Nation, I support the troops, but not the ou President...

Pack Neyland with 50,000 fans at home games.

Less if you can manage.

THAT will do the deal.

As long as 100,000 plus show up for home games, it don't matter if Elmer Fudd is the head coach. They're still selling seats.

And hot dogs.

Ah...good plan. Show up for home games...cheer the team...but not the coaches.

Excuse me...how, exactly, does that message get out?

Empty seats, bubba. THAT sends a message.

100,000 in Neyland...they could care less who you're there to support. Your ass is in a seat. You paid.

Economics 101, hoss. Take the class.

Fulmer will have 2 bad recruiting classes now 2005 and 2008, he will not recover. He has no chance of winning without the top players. This program will spend a couple of years rebuidling if a move isnt made this year.

As for those of us who have already paid for our tickets for the whole year, which is the overwhelming majority of the stadium, what difference does it make to them if we actually show up, they've already got our money, can't do much about that this year at least. We may as well go support the team and be real fans, not just stop caring cause we're not happy with the coach.

Fans should do a walk out. Say at the 10:00 minute mark of the 2nd quarter. They should all leave chanting Fire Fulmer

That would make more sense than not showing up, cause like I said, the University already has most everybody's money for the year, it's not like people not showing really hurts their pocketbook.

what are you talking about? we gave up our season tickets 4 years ago due to the fact that i moved off and couldn't go but to 2 home games a year due to playing college basketball. also the fact that prices kept going up and they wanted bigger donations my fam. just let them go. i live only 3 and a half hours away not to bad but the only game i've been to in the past 3 and a half years is bama last year. why drive 7 hours roundtrip in a day to watch a mediocre team when i can sit in the comfort of my house and stretch my 6'7 ass out? i won't be cramped in the stands. i'll eventually get season tickets again but not right now.

It's really a shame that it has to come to this nonsense. Fulmer should just realize his best days have passed him by, and bow out gracefully. In his heyday he really was a great coach, but most likely UT fans will remember the bitter taste from the end of his run rather than the really good times from the early years. He should just cut and run before things really get ugly cause most likely things will get worse before they get better.

We don't need to tell Mike Hamilton what needs to be done. If we do, we have the wrong AD. I am a Volunteer fan and have tried to not make any statements negative towards our football program. However, after today's games I feel moved to take a stand. Our team was not competitive and embarassed the great tradition of the University of Tennessee. There has to be a responsible party for that poor display of football execution and I believe it lays at the feet of the coaching staff. The SEC has ratcheted up the level of coaching expertise and I feel our great university isn't taking the steps to keep up with said competitiveness.. Therefore I'm calling for Mike Hamilton to seriously consider the worthiness of our head football coach in todays arena and make a change for the advancement of the name of Tennessee football.

I agree 100%, times have changed, and the brand of football Fulmer both played and has always coached is not necessarily the type of football that wins these days. It's not just Fulmer either, other top tier 90's programs have fallen off because of old school coaches that don't want to change (Florida St. I'm talking about you). The game seems to have passed him by and it's time to take some steps into the future, and it needs to be an outside hire, not just a promotion from within, that will accomplish nothing.

I realllllllly wish hamilton would take a stand, because we are going to have another losing season this year without a doubt. I don't think hamilton will do anything though, although i can hope, but if he does who will want to come to our program (realistically)

Rich Rodriguez from W. Virginia, Chris Petersen from Boise St. and Greg Schiano from Rutgers have all been mentioned on the board, and all would seem to be good fits, they have done quite a bit with less resources than they would have available to them at UT.
