1. He plays for Tennessee
2. He has Lane Kiffin as his head coach - Not a slam. People just don't like him right now.
3. He plays defense
4. ESPN already has their top 3
5. All he does is play defense
6. Did I mention, he plays for Tennessee
7. His team will not do well enough for him to win – like go undefeated
8. To many big name players in front of him besides the ESPN TOP 3
9. He won’t have an interception and touchdown in every game
10. No one will vote for an SEC player besides Tim Tebow.

Could he be the best football player in 2009? The VolNation thinks so and so does his team. He IS a special player and he will be drafted high next year. The positive thing is that he will not have to worry about the Heisman curse. Would you rather be Peyton Manning now or that guy from Michigan? But we can still dream!

He plays for Tennessee. That alone disqualifies him.

I would add another one to your list, he is the most deserving defensive player ever next to Lawerence Taylor, Al Wilson, Lavar Arrington, and Roy Williams. Which means only a defensive player undeserving of the Heisman can win it, i.e. Woodson. Sorry but the Big 10 was not know for passing offensive prowess besides Purdue during his playing time. That alone means he cannot win. My darkhorse D player to win the heisman this year is the middle linebacker for Duke, hell why not, Woodson won it. ;)

Forgot to add one of my most hated players of all time David Pollack. While he was a great player at UGA and dominated on D, met him a couple of times around town and couldn't stand him. Hey should have been in the top 2 or 3 for the heisman. In all honestly if Berry doesn't win it, I'm pulling for McCoy. I felt he should have won last year and that Texas would have beaten UF in the title game. Tebow was a great leader for the Gators no doubt, but Harvin was the key to their offense for 2 years. No one could match up with him no matter who they played.

Maybe I should start a thread called " 10 Reasons why..." And let everyone fill in the blank about this stupid thread!

Trivia question time

During that time in the Big 10, what coach led Purdue to an outstanding offense in passing?

we may see berry on offense some and berry could win it

i am doubtful he gets it because they don't like giving it to defensive players but then again they have not had a defensive player as good as this to give it to in recent years

quit getting down on tennessee the the negative

The Heisman is a joke. It does not go to the best pure athlete in the game it goes to who can throw for the most yards or run for the most touchdowns. I have said for a while now that EB is the best pure athlete in the game and because he plays on D he will never win the Heisman. In my opinion he would have to have God like numbers to even be mentioned in the Heisman final. 2 or 3 picks a game with one taken back to the house and a 100+ tackles..

Chaney was the OC, but still woodson was in a weak conference, and I still contend had they played Neb that year, mich would not have split the title. Either way, woodson was the sexy choice and not the best choice.
