We should at least off him. He really wanted tennessee to offer earlier but who knows what his opinion is now. Great football player with great character. We would be fools not to offer if we have room. nice to see you back LV. you seen SAB.

If UT offers and he decommits from UK as a result, he's just as bad as Kiffin.

Ridiculous post above...recruits have EVERY right to change their minds on where they go to college up until they sign the papers. The difference with Lame Kitten is, he had already signed his contract when he was 'recruited' away.

I have a relative closely associated with the Milan Football program and that knows Avery quite well. Avery committed to UK because of his relationship with head coach Rich Brooks, he says he likes Joker Phillips, but committed for Brooks. I think if CDD were to offer Avery he would commit. He is a great kid, tons of upside, and exactly the kind of player a coach wants. He is a long time Vol fan, and if offered there is a good chance he commits to Tennessee. Go get him coach, we will be missing out on a future star!

wouldn't shock me to see Dooley make contact if he is looking for guys that bleed orange by recruiting from the inside/out.

Avery has good upside but probably won't see the field for a couple of years... not that that's a bad thing, he just needs some coaching and conditioning. His instincts are superb and he is outstanding in pursuit!

I hope we can still land this recruit.

Sorry to resurrect such an ancient thread, but just wanted to give an update on Williamson: Through 6 games, he's 2nd in the SEC with 62 tackles and he leads the conference in solo tackles.

FWIW, another Tennessean, Daren Bates, leads Auburn and the SEC in total tackles. Bates transferred from Christian Brothers HS in Memphis to Olive Branch (MS) the summer before his senior year. Until a week before signing day, Bates' only scholarship offer was from Arkansas State.
Auburn's Bates makes schools pay for overlooking him at Olive Branch » The Commercial Appeal

As many lousy out of state kids we have brought in or the others that have defected from the program.
Its a shame we didnt grab this kid. He is having a nice career at UK, a speedy LB would have been a nice thing to have this year.
