On a serious note...could our track program help out with pulling Anderson (ala Justin Hunter)?

IDK. I wonder if any of the other schools on his interest list have a good track program. I have no clue about track and field nor which programs are considered superior in that aspect.

We should go after him. He's trying to leave The U after this semester. Could come in and get significant PT and would add speed and athleticism to our secondary.

How would this work since he was on a track scholarship? Would he have to sit out a year or since he was a walk on for football could he transfer without penalty?

Just speculation, I dont see us getting involved at all. I think the staff really wants Lanier to finish out with the secondary recruiting for this class.

He would have to sit out the same way J Williams did when he transfered from MTSU Hoops to Vols football

2 things here....

1) Even if he was a walk-on, it was always my impression that if you were on a scholarship and then walked-on the FB team, your scholarship was then counted against your FB scholarships.

2) If he participated in official practices, I do not see how he can avoid transfer penalties without a waiver or loophole.

I saw him a lot in high school. He's an incredible talent with gamebreaking elite speed. I'm just not sure if his mind is really set on football though and if he has that drive needed to become as good as he can be. As long has he hasn't had any off-field issues, he'd probably be worth the risk, although I suspect he'll end up back in Ohio somewhere or at a West Virginia type school.
