'10 in state players not interested in VOLS?

To me it seems like all the big-time players from TN in 2010 besides Jaques Smith dont seem very interested in us, most seem have bama and lsu at top

a few examples

Justin Maclin- favorites are Bama and LSU
Fred Harvey- favorites are Bama, LSU, and Florida
Keiwone Malone- already commited to bama
Harrison Jones- Likes bama ALOT

i know its really really early just wondering waht everyones thoughts are?

it is early .. Bama and LSU have a two year head start on Kiffin and Company.

Those coaches have been building relationships with those kids for several years. CLK and company have almost 1 year to build relationships. If CLK can land Teague and company in 2 months, then I like his chances with some of these kids with 1 year.

I'd say there about 20-25 UT worthy players in state for 2010, we'll be fine. Those are all Memphis kids too, we'll never completely lock down Memphis.

Eric Gordon wasn't too high on us until we actually put forth an effort in recruiting him...

Tennessee is deep and like has been said - it's early. This staff has shown in this class that a commitment will not keep them from pursuing a player.

Dude i have to put the blame on our old staff. Did they go on vacation during recruiting season the last two years?

I really think CLK was just focused on this years class but now that signing day has passed he can go focus on those in state guys that are coming up next yr and beyond..there is plenty of time and when they see the head way CLK has made with this school they will come to knoxville like bugs to the zapper

It was the same way this year with Eric Gordon and Teague. If Kiffin can get these guys in just a little over two months then i do believe Kiffin and Co. will get in the homes and schools of these athletes.

agreed. also Kiffin has proved that maybe he doesnt want them. i think at least until spring ball is over, he is more concentrated on pursuing the recruits for THIS year and getting the team prepared. after that he may focus more on the future palyers and you will see more of them interested in UT

could be.... he sure hasnt shown any hesitation to get in a kids ear, so far.

Is it me or should the KNS top 25 recruits be shortened to 10 or 15? How many legit major school players are in Tennessee?

Coach O and CLK may not have visited these kids yet, I imagine they can be persuasive on short notice.
