"Alabama is way out in front. They met my every expectation and had pretty much everything I am looking for in a football program," said Peters who stands 6-foot, 173 pounds. "It all started when I got there. I met with Coach (Kirby) Smart who basically laid everything out for me. He showed me the depth chart and that they only signed one corner last year. They want to sign five defensive backs or so this year, and I am one of their priorities.

"Coach Saban talked to me briefly before the game. He just said they really wanted me to be a part of the family and that he was happy I made it. I thought that was very cool of him to say that. He made sure everyone felt welcome even though he had a scrimmage to prepare for."

After Saturday's trip, however, it is clear that Alabama has become the team to beat.

"I am going to take everything in before I make a decision and I want to get my parents down for a visit to meet Coach Saban, but Alabama is the team to beat. The crowd was just unbelievable. 84,000 people for a spring game is just crazy. Their fans are second to none. It is all college football there which I love. There isn't any professional sports. People live and breath college football."

Peters spent most of the day hanging out with fellow Tide target Markeith Ambles.

Several other defensive backs had good performances. Highly recruited Garry Peters (Conyers, Ga./Heritage) continued his solid spring tour, showing solid coverage skills along with good hips in turning and running with the receiver. Even with his showing Saturday, he may be best-suited to play safety in college.

“I love Layne Kiffin (Tennessee). Some say he is a cocky guy but he was real cool on the phone.” Peters said

“I talk to Coach Orgeron from Tennessee all the time. He’s real cool. He sounds like a real cool guy.” Peters said, “I’m going down there and visit my sister who goes to Tennessee. I would love to be with her.”

Still says AL is his fav and FL was his childhood fav!
