'10 FL S Demar Dorsey

Safety
Lauderdale Lakes (FL) Boyd Anderson

Ht: 6-foot-2
Wt: 190 lbs
Class: 2010 (High School)

ESPN - Demar Dorsey Rankings, Grade, News, Stats - College Football Recruiting 2010

6-foot-2, 185-pound junior Demar Dorsey has committed to sign a Class of 2010 scholarship with Florida, according to ESPN affiliate Web site GatorCountry.com.

Demar Dorsey. It was at the UA combine, and I'm pretty sure they were hand-timed. He ran a 4.31 before turning in the time of 4.25. Even if those are hand-timed, there's still a pretty good chance that he's faster than any player posted in this thread:

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound junior came to the Citrus Bowl - site of Sunday night's UA All-American Game - on a mission. During the testing portion of the day Dorsey turned in a 4.25-second 40-yard dash.

That was just the beginning.

He stepped up and unloaded a 39.5-inch vertical jump. His athleticism was further on display when he had a 4.1-second shuttle and broad jumped 10 feet, 1 inch.

This kid sounds like a monster. The only 40 time I've seen that was lower was Chris Johnson's 4.24 time at last year's combine. I'm pretty sure that was electronically timed, though.

Dorsey said. "My uncle is a big Florida fan and I started following them lately. They've been doing good and I think it's a good opportunity for me."

Despite his commitment to the Gators, Dorsey is still getting heavily recruited by a number of programs.

"I'm still getting offered to play at other schools," he said. "Florida State offered me, UM offered me, Wisconsin, North Carolina, it's been a lot."

While Dorsey remains committed to the Gators, he made it clear that he'll consider other schools along the way.

"I'm committed but I'm still open to seeing other schools," he said. "I'll see what's out there. I'm gonna take some of my visits and see how it is. I'm interested in West Virginia, Florida State, North Carolina, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Miami."

Interestingly, Dorsey didn't grow up a fan of the Gators. Instead, he followed another program.

"UM was my team growing up," he said. "I grew up here and everyone talks about UM. Everyone in my house likes UM and watches them and stuff. I used to go down to their facility to watch them. I'm still interested in them but I kinda wanna get away for college, try something new."

apparently Florida fans are hearing that Dorsey is opening back up his recruitment---FSU/UT are supposedly the two he's concentrating on.

BTW, nyc over on TOS said that he is possibly reopening his recruitment (per some UF fans) and is specifically looking at UT and FSU.

I think he said something about being interested in West Virginia too. So now all our staff has to do is beat a team that is loaded with depth at the safety position, another team that is on probation, and West Virginia...

Gators pledge Demar Dorsey expected to take visits

ESPNU 150 Watch List safety Demar Dorsey told affiliate Web site NoleInsider.com, "Florida State, Tennessee, Rutgers, Wisconsin, North Carolina, LSU, and West Virginia are all still recruiting me. They've all offered scholarships."

"I'm verbally committed to Florida right now but I'm going to take visits to other schools during the summer and attend some camps. I'm still going to look at schools and what they're offering. I didn't decommit from Florida, but I'm still looking around at other schools."

Dorsey, who recorded 82 tackles, five interceptions and scored five total touchdowns last fall, stole the show at the Orlando Under Armour combine in January after posting a 4.25 40-yard dash, 4.19 short-shuttle and a 39.5-inch vertical.

Nah,

Bo Jackson ran a sub 4.2. Florida has 2-3 guys that can run a sub 4.3. I hate them

4.25 forty is the fastest I can recall for a football player.

The key word in my comment was "I" as in me personally. Off the top of my head, it was the fastest I could recall. I don't think you can debate my memory, can you? (insert face of confusion)

Moving on...Elam seems to be very strong on the Gators from all parties.

Nuke was all Gator as well. Fact is, UF's depth chart, especially at DB and WR is very stacked. That is the reasoning for Dorsey looking around.

It all depends. Eddie Gran has as much pull in Florida as just about any recruiter in the country. If he does look around, we will be one of the few schools he looks at.
