Sorry if this has been posted, but I just looked on his myspace to see that he had this listed as his "about me". He's also taken down the pic of The Rock. Now there are three pics there...logos for Florida, UT, and USC.

"IT'S J. SCROGGSTHINGS PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW IN LIFE AND THAT WOULD BE THAT IM A LEADER NOT A FOLLOWER...I DONT FOLLOW THE CROWD... IM LOOKIN FOR WAYS OUT SO I CAN MAKE MYSELF AND MY FAMILY BETTER...IF U DO ME LIKE I DO ME WE CAN DO EACHOTHER AND BE BETTER...LIFE GOES SO FAST AND HAS SO LITTLE OPPORTUNITYS... I DONT WANT TO BE LEFT BEHIND BCUZ OF SOME STUPID INCIDENT OR I DONT WANT TO BE 2 YEARS FROM NOW PLAYIN BBALL AT THE PARK SAYIN I USED TO... THE WORST THING I FEAR IN LIFE IS REGRET... J SCROGGS"

I think it will be emotion but also financial. The father talked about how they had a hard time after flying out to FLA with all of the expenses.

Dad can see his son practice anytime he wants without jumping on a plane and can be at his son's games within a 30 min drive door to game.

Those two things can be huge as well. Now if Jesse lived in Washington, it would be a different story.

(This also explains why USC bought the dad a Lear Jet for the away games....:) jk UTM)
So, you're assuming his mom isn't excited about the possibility of moving to her home state, where she can not only see her son start for 3-4 yrs, but be close to ALL of her relatives. Nope, I can't imagine that ever crossing her mind....not once. Can't see her considering the prospect of no state income taxes, lower cost of living...no smog, much, much better scenery...and she would never ponder the prospect of being able to see her mom and pops on a regular basis.

If one trip to Florida pretty much depletes the family finances, how exactly are they going to be able to afford a new house across the country?

How do you know what their situation is right now? Obviously he was able to go to UF, UT, and USC camps...and will be going to the Elite 11. That quote was over a year ago, was it not?

FWIW...there's this new method whereby you don't have to buy a home. I think it's a called "Rent" or something. I'm not sure, but I'll check my sources and get back to you on that. :birgits_giggle:

I think putting that song "rocky top" on his myspace page is a perfect idea!!!

please do and seal the deal.... :D

This is a USC fan telling you to do this.......

You sir, may eventually fit in well here... :)

More NFL coaches with deep NFL connections than any other team. Who dat gonna prepare Jesse mo' better for da league, than Tennessee? :)

Very impressive but I still vote for the lady signing "rocky top"....

Country is huge in Lakewood!!

Happy 4th to everyone
I live in Riverside, not too far from Jesse, and I can say definitively that SoCal...at least the Smog pit that the LA area is (San Diego area is nice), ain't got jack on the rolling hills of East Tennessee. It's a sight to behold compared to SoCal (which has some unique charms, but it's still desert and it's VERY obvious).

As for the bluegrass version of RockyTop, I don't think too many people really care for it...but you have to admit, the Tennessee band's version stomps a mudhole in everyone else's fight song! No doubt about it

Dude, when you want to start comparing notes over more than than the past 4-5yrs, then let's talk. USC, like FSU for many years was able to soak up all the media attention cause they are the only good team in their conference. That's evident when UF whips their tail year in, year out. Same with Miami. If USC had to play an SEC schedule every year, they'd suck donkey balls. That's why the SEC is WIDELY known to be the best conference...cause it's a meat grinder to get through unscathed. Especially when you have to play Florida every year.

I'd love to swap schedules with you guys for just one year. When you're winning, everyone wants your players...but when you have a rough year, it's the reverse. Guarantee you, if USC had to play UF, UGA, and Bama last year, those NFL draft #'s drop dramatically.

And of those QB's..not a lot to brag about just yet. Only Carson Palmer is worth doing so. Sanchez hasn't played a snap, and he may be surprised to see Eric Ainge come on this year or the next and keep him on the bench. Your boy Leinart stunk it up in the preseason last year so an old veteran who was close to retiring had to step in and take care of business. Cassell had a decent year on a GREAT team. He went to the NFL's worst team, so jury's still out if he's for real or not. If all of those guys were starters and tearing it up in the league, I'd have to agree with you, but right now, you don't have as much to brag about as you like to think.

I did not know you were a 909'er!

I agree Tennesse is a great state but you really can not compare USC to Corona, Norco,Rivertucky and Lake Elsinore.

You can compare USC to Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Hollyweird and Newport Beach.

Have a great fourth!
