So interesting scenario...

If it turns out that P. Sims did/does decommit from Bama, how does that change our pursuit of Scroggins? Basically, which one would be more desirable to Kiffin & UT plus have more appeal to other recruits?

You have to see Scroggins through, but there isn't any reason why you couldn't at least gauge interest from Sims.

He doesnt seem scared of Barkley. I dont see where he would be scared of Sims or our current stable.

Kiffin needs to send this to Jesse. It's all "what ifs" and speculation, but Sportingnews and Yahoo Sports are talking about USC possibly losing scholarships, TV air time, and bowl games. We could use this to our advantage if the Reggie Bush scandal comes to fruition over next couple of months.... Who am I kidding, this is USC we are talking about. They are exempt. Anyway, it's interesting and fun to dream.

No - I'd rather Kiffin not attempt to trash Jesse's childhood favorite school (which is right by his house). Not to mention the school that gave him the chance to move up when CPC took him in. He wouldn't be where he is today with Pete.

Hubbs said thursday afternoon Jesse could announce as early as next week. This lead him to believe either UT or USC is pushing him to come out with it... He also said something along the lines of not being confident he would be all Vol. He was taking in to consideration Jesse's father made it a point to be at the USC camp (even scheduled his work around it), and that he has said on different occasions they don't have much money to fly around the country watching their son play football... tifwiw.

i give them credit for trying to schedule one tough non-conference opponent a year. Ohio State has been the recent candidate, Nebraska in 06-07, Arkansas 05-06, and Virginia Tech in 05. not to mention, theyve cleaned up pretty well in their bowl games. on a week-to-week match up against the best of the SEC, they could compete, but they wouldnt dominate year in and year out.

i noticed a lot of people saying that Scroggins (or a QB) needs to sign soon to get the overall recruiting going strong. id feel a lot better if he signed tomorrow, but there is no certainty that he wont eventually sign with USC anyways. couldnt that ultimatley hurt our recruiting come signing day? it would definatley hurt our QB search at that point. what do you guys think?

i for one will definatley feel safer when his name is in ink...

As I said before, I do not think that Jesse is 100% USC but if you guys promise to put that "rocky top" link on his myspace then I will bet the farm that he will be at USC :birgits_giggle:

scroggins is going to SC, rettig should be a vol and strauss from Fl could be a dark horse if he has a great senior year. if we cant pull off both retting and rees.
