Great balance and body control. Coach O was on this offer I believe.
“I pulled in a Tennessee offer," said Shaw. "That's my favorite school from the SEC."
Shaw has long been a fan of the work of defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin, and also likes what he's seen from head coach Lane Kiffin.
"I feel like they can get me to the next level," said Shaw. "Lane Kiffin and his dad, Monte, are the men."

Tennessee became the latest school to offer Palmdale (Calif.) defensive back Joshua Shaw and the Vols immediately jumped to the top of his list.
"That's my top choice right now," Shaw said. "They have a legendary coaching staff on the defensive side of the ball. Monte Kiffin would be great to learn from and I know he could prepare me for the next level because he has been there and knows what it takes to get there.
"I need to start narrowing my list down soon here because I plan to graduate early so I can enroll in time to participate in spring ball. Oklahoma is another school I like a lot but I'm still open and want to take some visits early in the year before I make my decision."
Coach Monte Kiffin is great. What he did at Tampa Bay was amazing. Hes like a football god.
"I have a Top 3," Shaw said, "and Notre Dame is definitely in that. I would say the schools that actually stand out the most right now; I would have to say Notre Dame, USC and Oklahoma. Those stand out the most. But I'm also liking Washington, Tennessee and of course UCLA now with that offer."
“I’m going to Notre Dame when they play USC, October 17” Shaw said. “I just scheduled LSU for their game against Florida, October 10. I’m going to Ohio State when they play USC. An Oklahoma visit is in the works. They’re waiting to find out when they have a night game, so I can get up there. Tennessee is going to be my other official visit."
Palmdale (Calif.) High cornerback Joshua Shaw previously was ranked as a three-star prospect based on defensive game-film review alone. But after seeing him in person, there was no question he is an elite prospect worthy of a spot in the Rivals100. Shaw dominated everywhere he went this spring and summer, showcasing his coverage ability, amazing frame and solid speed. His efforts led him to be ranked as the nation's No. 45 player overall and the No. 3 cornerback.
Palmdale (Calif.) defensive back Joshua Shaw continues to show he's one of the top corners in the country. He picked up another national offer earlier in the week.At 6-2, 185 pounds, Shaw looks like a safety but he's being recruited strictly for corner.
"Michigan is the latest school to offer me," Shaw said. "They just offered on Monday and I definitely have interest there. Every time I try to narrow things down, a new school jumps in and it's getting harder and harder to figure this out.
"I'm going to take some unofficial visits and I set a date to visit Ohio State Aug. 6. I was going to try and check out Ohio State and Notre Dame that week but it was just too much to do both."
Shaw said he also plans to check out the local schools, USC and UCLA again before the summer is out as well.
"I only camped at UCLA and didn't really get to tour the facilities," Shaw said. "So I'm going to go visit when they start fall camp. I talked to Coach Neuheisal before I left for Orlando and he was telling me how important I am to them. They have a lot of corners though so I'm not sure how badly they need more defensive backs but I'm going to check them out for sure.
"I've already visited USC but I'm going to watch them in fall camp as well. I feel real comfortable with the coaches and the program is so strong. Right now, I'm just going to go through the process, gather as much information as possible, take all my visits and them commit sometime later in the year."
Palmdale (Calif.) defensive back Joshua Shaw, a recent selection for the Under Armour All-American game, has three of his official visits lined up and has a good idea where his last two will be as well.
"I have Ohio St (Sept. 11), LSU (Oct. 9) and Notre Dame (Oct. 17)," Shaw said. "All three games should be very exciting. I'll be visiting Ohio State and Notre Dame when they play USC and LSU will be hosting Florida the weekend I'm there. For my last two visits, Oklahoma and Tennessee are looking good right now. I'm also going to take an unofficial visit to Washington (Sept. 5) when they play LSU and I'll be sure to take in games at USC and UCLA as well."
"Some guys, like Kyle Prater, aren't cocky at all," said Shaw. "I had a good talk with him. He came up to me after the whole event was over and congratulated me. He said I was the best corner he's faced, which was real humble.
"He said he wants to go to a school where he has competition at the corner position. The competition will only make him better, is what he said. We exchanged numbers and stuff. He's one of the good guys because he's humble and only wants to get better."
