A 2 loss Tennessee with one being an overtime loss to Georgia and let's say......a very close game with Alabama resulting a a loss would almost certainly be playoff worthy.
Let's not forget that Alabama and Georgia have 1 loss just like us. I'm feeling strong that Alabama has at least 2 more losses based on the strength of the rest of their schedule. Vandy beat them last year and is better than last year. The entirety of the balance of their schedule is nightmare material except SC St. Georgia has a better path but GT, Texas, Ol Piss, and even Auburn are going to be toss ups. Oh, and they have to play Miss St too.

This might be the current blueprint:

Top 4 SEC will be guaranteed
Top 3 B10 will be guaranteed
1 more team from these 2 conferences UNLESS Notre Dame snags it.
ACC - B10 - Group of 5 will have 4 teams split among them. 1-1-2, 1-2-1, 2-1-1

A Tennessee that got beat by UGA & Bama would only have OU as a potential quality win. Compared to some other teams, that may or may not be enough. Certainly not enough for a certain playoff bid, which is the point of the thread.

I didn’t say it did. Just as what you quoted doesn’t cancel out the most recent thing he said.

I’ll bet money Mateer is back for our game at the latest. They all know what’s at stake.

Again, the recovery time is the recovery time. I highly doubt they are gonna let him play before he's fully cleared.

Not necessarily untrue, but beating Vandy this year has weight. Beating OU would have weight. And that Miss St team is going to have a good year. They may very well end up being a very valuable win.
